Hello, I spend quite a lot of time on bitcointalk forum, alt-coins subforum. Watching all the scams, thievery, people loosing money, new-revolutionary coins that are exact copies and have absolutely nothing new to offer, I have decided to make a thread with a weekly summary of all the suspicious coins. It will be updated each monday (GMT+1 time). I do hope some of you will find it useful and perhaps you will think twice before investing in IPO or premined coin.

Just before the start, I would like to say, that last week abounded with more then 50 SCAM COINS.

Here we go:

1. Metalcoin - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=651653.0;topicseen | 30% premine, no innovation, nothing new to offer

2. XDDCoin - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=652912.msg7322730#msg7322730 | instamine, unannounced premine, ninja start, nothing new to offer

3. Fiatcoin - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=653166.0;topicseen | 100% premine, IPO, nothing new to offer

7. XAPCoin - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=650221.0;topicseen | No information, except one: you can buy coins from the developer. No mining, POS, nothing.

More next week. Remember, stay away from all the SCAMS!

And don't hesitate to contact me in case any from the listed coins has been mistakenly put there. This is just a summery. I do my best reading coins descriptions, investigating and deciding which one of those have obvious scam signs and which do not. The list will be updated weekly, and the changes are always welcome. Fewer the scams, the better for us and cryptoworld.

So show me the volume for these stakes at 1600 USD?

Also price has nothing to do with it being a scam or not , like I said it's a well put together scam.

Good job, i'm supporting that kind of action.

You missed one: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=658036.0

There should be effort made with bitcointalk moderators, to check IP's, delete newcoinscams immediately from forum, You can't ANN new coin if you don't have enough post, get approval from moderator, all premine address must be public....etc..
Together with exchanges, it can slow down those scams.

Volume is about 1 million nxt/ 1 week so around 60.000$/ 1 week. NXT AE is not the best choice for an exchange. Buyers have to move money around.

How can you call something a scam based on the trading volume of a certain exchange.. My god people are really trying everything to drag a coin down these days. The fact is the closed alpha is out atm. and quite a few people are testing it and it's working like a charm. the developers are working on it full-time and are already busy implenting our other suggestions.

I'd say you should wait untill the 25th/26th and test the alpha yourself untill you call it a scam.

Everyone thank you for correcting me. There have been many complains considering one of the coins listed above. I have updated the thread (blue parahraph) and removed mentioned coin from the list. Changes are always welcome, and if you feel like correcting me, don't hesitate to do that.

All best, and cya next monday!

Props to you for realising and fixing a mistake! Anyway, aside from the fact that some coins might not be intended as scams I think it's great to raise some awareness about all the shit coins which are being launched.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention OP.
I can confirm that these guys (no. 42) do not have a clue. They probably just copied most of their info from a wiki somewhere and I'll be keeping a close eye on them.
