I was just contemplating, imagine if bitcoin had its own TED talk (www.ted.com), we'd have no problems getting people interested, and to be honest bitcoins are a hell of a lot more interesting than half of the stuff they post on the site.

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

About the only way that would happen is if Satoshi revealed himself specifically for a TED talk.

Any significantly advanced cryptocurrency is indistinguishable from Ponzi Tulips.

or gavin or theymos, it doesn't have to be how they built it, just how it functions as a new type of economic tool.

he's not doing a TED talk, he's doing a TEDx affiliate talk. Nefario (GLBSE) is doing one too:

It's a start. Either way, they will have a real impact on educating people about Bitcoin.
