How interested would you be in this metric?
I'd design a survey that would attempt to gather the general consensus about where Bitcoin, and the Bitcoin economy, is heading. It wouldn't tell you where Bitcoin is going... But where Bitcoiners think it is going.
I know there is that Spaculator site, but that site only tells you about where Bitcoiners think the price is heading. Also it's more of a gambling game than anything else.
Let me know; if there is enough interest I'll make a survey and release the results every month.

Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

- price
- price volatility
- number of merchants accepting Bitcoin
- number of Bitcoin transactions
- forum activity
- news reports/conferences
- asking people/polls
I'm not sure how this would actually translate into a number. I'm just suggesting.
I was thinking of also including the following categories, as stolen from the Consumer Confidence Survey: Current business conditions Business conditions for the next six months Current employment conditions Employment conditions for the next six months Total family income for the next six months I'll have to come up with a pretty extensive survey. |

I'm not sure what the value would be from results that are signing to the quire so to speak. Maybe something that tells us how the rest of society outside our bubble of a forum thinks?
