Easy solution is to transfer the GCoins to another address you own, perhaps a PC wallet. Then the private key you're worried about won't be worth anything.

I tried to use the browser version to play a little but my account ended up with 0 credits, the transactions show 5000 was credited but it does not show up in balance so playing is impossible. I then tried it on my phone, i was able to play there. I tried sending some coins from phone to a browser version but but when i scan the QR code, it comes up as blank. Making it impossible to send the coins to desktop version. (I hate playing on the phone :/)

Hi edmundduke.

I know about the send problem on the phone when the keyboard comes up. We are looking at that. You can
send using a QR code picture. On the PC if you re-fresh the url on top the balance should refresh itself. You can play
on the phone and login on the same account and send then from the PC/Mac also. Let me know how you get on.

Hello

Tried refreshing balance is still empty Smiley. I made a new account to test and that one is also empty, the 5000 is shown in transactions but does not show in balance.
As for the QR code, for some reason it doesnt work. It shows the QR address as gcoin. And stops after that, like it couldnt find a unique address in it but only the generic gcoin.

As for speed, works really well on my phone. Much faster than the last time i played on it Smiley (months ago)

P.S
Account was credited fine on mobile but not on PC.

Minor update on the Breakout thing: I've been working on making it run on Android. So far, I have the main menu working without issues, but it required a technical change that will require some cleanup. And it seems writing some files to a folder isn't as simple in Android as it is on a PC.

^ me holding my ancient HTC One V and taking a pic with my Galaxy S4.. because the other way around just gave me grainy useless pictures.

By the way, the minimum required Android version will be 2.2. I could potentially deploy to iOS too, at version 4.3 and up, but I'd require me to have an iDevice to test it on. Any volunteers? Tongue

Does this mean there is a Breakout/Arkanoid style game in the works that will allow earning GCoin?!

I thought I had collected enough of these bad boys, but you will be twisting my arm with this one.  The only game I really play anymore when I have a few minutes, love most all of the Arkanoid style games........got addicted to that game MANY years ago on some PC my brother in law had that I can't remember the name of.

Hey Greg.......hope all is well bud!!

Yeah, IMJim! I'm making decent progress here, won't be long until it's out. I've set up a dev blog yesterday so I can give more frequent and detailed updates without spamming this place too much.

The first version will be pretty rudimentary: online "single player" mode for those who don't feel too competitive, multiplayer mode with any number of players as long as there's a level file that supports that number, and the same "bet a small amount, win more than you lose on average" type of distribution that the casinos also offer. One difference with the Android casino is that all gameplay is serverside, so it's a lot harder for a skilled person to hack this thing and try to steal all the GCoins.

Cool stuff man!!!!

Have to say though.........spam away here brother!  Don't think ANYONE considers your efforts or posts as spam in anyway shape or form, you are obviously doing something GREAT for this community and your posts only help get us more attention so post away my friend:-)

You guys might be in trouble though if this a tournament type of platform........I'm really good at these breakout games, usually make it through the entire game without having to start over with extra balls:-)

Heh, you're welcome. Anyway, with the ranked stuff later, you'll have all the opportunity you want to take on similarly-skilled players. I'll also likely add a few options that'll change up the whole game's rules, in case you want more of a challenge.

I just finished getting the game to load on Android. Now I have to implement touch controls (easy peasy EDIT: DONE), and make it not crash when you try to exit (might take hours of searching, might be simple. Dunno EDIT: SUDDENLY VANISHED SRSLY WUT). At that point, it'll be equal to the pc version. Next is a chat system for the lobby, actual GCoin integration, and then I could probably throw it out here as a version 1.0 of sorts.

And to both IMJim and macsga: thanks a lot for the kind words, it's good to know this stuff is appreciated!

I have a new post about this on my blog. Figure I might as well pimp it, as I'll also be hosting various related things on that site. A wiki and perhaps a forum later. And it's pretty, so go there anyway! Tongue

Sure thing. Making GCoin a bit more valuable was the main point anyway, of course. One of the main differences with the casinos is that it'll also have ways to spend GCoins, like your average freemium game, so it might serve to reduce the number of GCoins in circulation. Basically, the idea is this:

Price is about $0.08 per million GCoins. Players can also buy temporary skins and other decorative stuff for 5k-2m GCoins instead. Many will, because it's cheap. GCoins flow to server owner, who can redistribute them to attract more players or keep it to earn some money. This reduces the amount of GCoins in circulation, or at least reduces the amount that any one person has, increasing price through decreased supply.

Price is about $0.25 per million GCoins. Players can still buy stuff for 5k-2m GCoins instead, but now those 2m start to look like actual money. So, some might try to just sell as high as they can instead, knowing that others might still buy.

Price is about $1 per million GCoins. Players can buy stuff for 5k-2m GCoins, but many will instead just sell and cause the price to drop to a lower level.

^ this means that the price will be stabilized somewhat, with added downward pressure if it goes high and added upward pressure if it goes low. Because the price would hover toward a level where the buyables have a sensible price, making them cheaper (in terms of GCoin) would likely make GCoin more expensive and vice versa. It's not as strong a mechanism as Bitcoin's mining difficulty or anything like that, but it might still help to make GCoin more valuable.

Besides, any currency is pretty worthless if you can't use it on anything. Adding stuff to buy ingame means that GCoin will have more utility, another factor that could drive up the price.
