Well, i don't know what exchange are you talking about, there are many wich has many prices.

In localBitcoins you can find prices from 10-12% cheaper to 15-20% overpriced (based with average prices: Bitstamp, btc-e, coinbase).

If you create your own ad, you can get bitcoins at a discount. But, then you have to wait for a seller to contact you, and with no rep it might be a while.

You can buy bitcoin from ATMs if there is one near where you live. These ATMs buy from an exchange and sell them to you with a 3%-5% fee. I am not sure if this is what you want, off exchange with no KYC verifications?

Local bit coins is trading around 600 right now with the other exchanges around 570 or so. Buying through coin base takes a bit longer but is a good route to go. If you want anonymity local is probably your best bet.

Most sellers on localbitcoin source their bitcoin from the main exchanges. Of course the price will be higher there.

the price on localbitcoin is linked directly to bitstamp (I think this is the one). Sellers make their price a percentage of the bitstamp price. Most are above the price, but there are a few that offer discounts

If you're looking to buy open a thread in the market place with your requirement and payment options and you will get tonnes of offers from people selling for prices lower than exchanges. The prices on localbitcoins is usually on the higher side in my experience and it is because the sellers their offer direct bank transfers to your account in your local currencies which saves the buyer a lot of hassle and extra fees.

as far as I know btc-e has the best price when buying bitcoins...if you can get your money there easily then do so and buy there.
In general though I usually see people offering to buy @ bitstamp + 3% or preev +4%

Traders will sometimes offer a discount if they want to get rid of their coins quickly. You can also make an offer to buy at a discount.

This spot for rent.
