Hey I'm still kind of new to bitcoins and I'm curious what the best way to go from bitcoins to USD is?

How I do it: 1) mine coins 2) open Mt Gox trading account 3) open Dwolla account and tie it to a debit card 4) transfer mined coins to Mt Gox (few mins) 5) Sell coins at market price (few seconds or mins) 6)transfer your USD from Mt Gox to your Dwolla account (never took more than 1/2 hr for me) 7)ACH transfer to your debit card( next day during the week)  from coins to USD in 1 day with almost zero fees  |

Watch out with paypal though, if they lock your account, it's possible the money will be stuck for months!

I love that it's simple . . . Yes this is safe and secure. You do have to prove who you are(scan and upload ID) to open the Dwolla account. To link a bank account is very easy with a prepaid debit card. As long as you are not doing large transfers(over $1K/day)Mt. Gox won't bug you.(I don't think they have changed that) Their web interface is easy and straightforward, just use the "Funding" tab to find the uplink for BTC and downlink to Dwolla. The whole process might take you a day or two to get all set up depending on how quickly you move on things but once you have the accounts linked it doesn't get much easier, plus Dwolla fees are only 1 quarter!(free for under $10) Just don't initiate the Dwolla ACH transfer to your debit card after Thursday or you will most likely have to wait until Monday for it to complete. Works for me! |
