Any ideas for a Bitcoin logo that doesn't hijack the Thai Baht symbol? Not that it is a major issue, but we could also use several alternatives to the ones used currently.

I only now just noticed the second "B" logo in this link: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Promotional_graphics (Scroll down). Actually looks good.

The other ones we have had are here: https://bitcointalk.org/?topic=1756.0 These were the ones I was thinking of when I said they could use an overhaul. But those "Ƀ" symbols... not bad at all.

If you could come up with alternatives to both, or improvements to both, I would certainly chip in a coin or two.

The name Ragged Monk comes from a story of Buddhist beggar monks.  If you could create me a profile picture with some sort of vector art ragged buddhist monk in a mediation pose, possibly including the name "Ragged Monk" in it, and you personally swear that it looks good, I'll give you 1BTC - guaranteed.  If I really think its good, I'll tip you more, up to 5 BTC if you absolutely blow my mind (If i think its a good job ~2-3).

If you are interested, I am happy to do the process in the open in this thread: it will let others see how you work and what you can do as well.  If not, PM is good too.

rjk has a very good idea, it should be done. We'll sponsor it.

So, make three icons to represent the bitcoin currency (general purpose, sort of how the baht is used now). The icons may not consist of the letter B alone, no matter the stylisation etc.

You get three bitcoin for all three, with a possible bonus of up to another two bitcoin if you hit on one that's outstanding. Obviously all the rights transfer to MPOE.

I'll be watching this thread.

They are the most ignore-able colors in all existence.

MPOE-PR, are you planning on them for your use, or are you going to transfer the rights to the public domain? It would be nice to have some additional public domain logos available, and I would chip in a bit more for that.

For a virtual currency, the colors should be virtual too!

Therefore I declare we use these unrenderable colors (out of gamut on any device or eyeball) defined in the L*, a*, b* color space:
L: 100 a: -128 b: 127
L: 100 a: 127 b:-128

Here's what they look like in AdobeRGB color space, which is still not close (only seeable if you have a wide gamut monitor and a properly color managed OS, where they pop out like neon.)


Here's a PDF with the actual Lab colors, you can view or print to freak out your monitor, printer, etc.

I need a logo for irelan.org (ireland + lan party), which is a site that I will be using to post lan party information. It would be great to have a shamrock with some ethernet cables coming out of it, or something like that.

Also, I could use a logo for another site, freezepc.com, I'm thinking a computer in a freezer or icecycles coming off of a computer or wires coming out of a freezer. The idea is to post pictures of systems in freezers for overclocking.

If they're good, I'll tip extra and perhaps some other ideas.

Something that would look good on a light colored background and uses the color blue (#004993) with perhaps some black/white would be appreciated.  I would also like it to have a transparent background like Ragged Monk's, which was very nice.  Anything having to do with computers or bitcoin mining for a theme would be great.  Will pay 1 BTC upon completion.  Thank you!
