sure, if you look at the block explorer: http://maia.blockexplorer.cc/chain/MaiaCoin

you'll see that for example block 13534 ( http://maia.blockexplorer.cc/block/5125a4fd301b4e00613ff3ddac3e9a859252c52c6e88a90c735638c5ad025481 ) is PoS, and you can't have both PoS and PoW rewards in the same block. But this block (and many others) are still counted as a part of "PoW period", where PoW reward is possible
