Ukraine made such a big deal from this. As the result they will be only poorer, even with only association. Look at Bulgaria. Look at Greece. Look at Romania and so on. Europe does not need anything from these countries. Not even as a workforce.

The Western Europeans might not need the workforce, but for sure they need the ready access to these markets. Western & Central European markets look saturated right now. The only growth is occurring in the east, especially in countries such as Croatia, Baltics and Poland.

Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

I've found an interesting read:
http://meatinfo.ru/news/na-ukrainu-nadvigaetsya-tsunami-restitutsii-326551

A wave of restitution threatens to overrun Ukraine.

One of the consequences of signing of EU association agreement is Ukraine's obligation to adapt its laws to EU standards, where restitution is a key element.

Polish and Hungarian former owners have serious views on property and land in Western-Ukraine, as does the Jewish community.

So, has Russia taken control of Ukrainian yet? Should be a simple task for such a big country.

That's the pincher, isn't it? Smiley Russia was never interested in taking control over Ukraine, unlike some Western powers tried to misrepresent.
