there is no point.

Why does it matter if someone wastes 10 seconds of their life looking at a coin to see if its got pre mine, 90+% state if they have pre mine or not, anyone lying about it wouldn't be stupid enough to put a hidden premine in and post it to the premine category . so doesn't help in any way. except make your life just that little bit easier.

Then this brings into question other categories that people would want catered to their personal needs. only the coins they personally wish to see, until the are 100 different pointless categories that wouldn't be required if people weren't so fucking dumb or lazy to just go and look for themselves.

Now you have people compaining from the amount of categories dev's having to post ann threads in 12 different sub categories , so they make a section to include them all....which is right back to square 1.

All because you cannot spend 10 seconds of your life to read the first post on an ann thread to see if its premine or not

A lot of people just ignore all ipo and premine coins
And this would make it a lot easier to keep up with wants new with out scrolling thought 100s of post of IPO and 6% pre mine scam coins.

That would give traders much more time to consider in witch coin to invest before it hits high price and volume.

I think this would be really useful and eventually stem the tide of cynical coin launches.

The one problem I see with having sub categories for algos or PoS is when a dev does a PRE-ANN, and says that the coin will have algo X.  Then the replies come back with "but why algo X, it should be Y....", then the dev agrees, and changes the algo (same can be said for PoW/PoS coins).  Would it then be up to the mod's to move th thread to the correct sub-category?

I think that would just be adding to their workload, and don't see how it would either cut down on the number of coins launching.

By the way, recently the topic of one coin had information about premine, then dev agreed to remove premine, but he cheated and yet mined premine.
Who will monitor this and move this topic back and forth?

Seems a little, er binary. Perhaps we could aspire to something more expressive - something on the lines of the renowned alternate taxonomy offered in the Cryptological Emporium of Benevolent Knowledge*.

The list divides all premines into one of 14 categories:

• Those that belong to the dev
• Recursive ones
• Those that are filched by co-workers
• Suckling pigs
• Mineral pools (or Sumps)
• Fabulous ones
• Stray doges
• Those that are included in this classification
• Those that shimmer as if they were mirages
• Innumerable ones
• Those drawn with a very fine right bitshift
• Et::cetera()
• Those that have just exceeded the maxcoins limit
• Those that, at a distance, resemble satoshi

IMO, this will just create tons of work for the mods to handle all those threads at wrong sub-sections.
Those who care about altcoin could spend a minute to read the OP and check if it is premine, PoS, etc.
Those who don't care about altcoin would have the whole altcoin section in ignore list.
