Just seen something odd in the Bitstamp order book.

If the minimum trade is $5, how can someone be selling 0.00000015 for $0. I would happily buy it for $0 though.
Any ideas?

Though I have never used BitStamp, I used to know it is a real time exchange where buying & selling takes place at market price. Why is it showing individual buying & selling offers like this ?

I assume it was a bigger ask order and a buyer bought it "almost".

Like 0.01 offer then someone bought 0.00999985 so there is 0.00000015 left. Then the 0.00 might be a rounding/display error. I assume the precision on the background is much bigger than 2 decimals.

Probably too many decimal places are hidden

The buy and sell orders are shown in almost all exchanges.
For example, you can find them in the middle of https://btc-e.com/, and in the bottom of https://www.kraken.com/market
