Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

If you are having trouble sync that will resolve as more people come online and leave wallet (qt) running.

In addition We are working on launching a NOMP server now so people can mine.

Thanks for your patience I will post shortly with NOMP Server address so your begin your journey!

Please use your wallet address as name and then the password can be anything.

How ever you would configure that device either using CGMiner or BFGMiner or MinerD as long as you point to the NOMP Pool stratum+tcp://miningmunchers.net:5114 with your wallet as the address and any password specifying algo is SHA256 should work fine.

www.miningmunchers.net is giving me only 300GH/s on a 1TH/s miner, while if I use stratum+tcp://54.227.83.239:5114 I get 1GH/s on it. What's the difference to use for miningmunchers?

Also, what's the minimum threshold to start receiving coins?

On linux, the file must be named "coin.conf" (do not substitute "republiccoin" for "coin", literally it's "coin.conf") in the directory /home/<youruser>/.republiccoin.
Replace <youruser> with your username. Ubuntu, jiminycricket, whatever. Cheesy
On first run, if the folder doesn't exist, it will be created.

Hi.

https://alcurex.com/

Special Thanks for alcurEx Exchange!  We now have a home that we can trade on.

I also see that a BlockExplorer has been created and I am working on replying to that supporter with some questions about it.  All payouts will happen this evening for the 1st Exchange that I am sure all are happy about this.  If you have not posted your RC address in your post before the Exchange mail, please go back and add it so that you can be part of the 500,000 RC payout!

I am at my day job and they have removed my VPN access to home Sad so this is why we must wait till tonight.  Thank you all for your support!  This is truly amazing the acceptance of RepublicCoin.  Before I start tearing up (Just Kidding not that much of a wuss) I'm going to register for the exchange and I hope others will join me! Time to pay it forward much love to alcurEX Exchange!

Just a heads up, RC already exists in some exchanges as Russia Coin, might want to change the code to something different.

Should of been more?  Nice part about this coin its for all so if you choose not to use it that is fine also it's not for everybody and can't please all.  We thought with a cap of 50 Million the pre-mine would not be too bad since we are paying out some rather large bounties Smiley  Trying to give back to the community.

I have been informed that the exchange is experiencing some issues with incoming RC deposits.  Please rest assured support has been contacted and am sure they are looking into the issue to resolve as promptly as possible.

Since there is another coin with RC I am also taking suggestions for a new Tag. Please feel free to post your suggestions.

Hi.
RepublicCoin was little rebel on alcurEX exchange.
Confirmations working now.

Your coin is running fine, but linux wallet don't use "coin folder" as usually.
Path for coin.conf and wallet.dat is set direct on root folder.
Can you check it when you make next update in source code, or did I miss something with setup?

Oh, and thanks for the dev about bounty. I will not sell it.
Wish you good luck with RepublicCoin.

Happy trading

Attention all.  With a very heavy heart I have had some terrible news hit me with regards to a family matter that involves an attempt on a life for somebody that needs some serious help.  I will not be able to dedicate as much time as I have hoped to this coin.  As you can see this coin is in its very infancy so in someways I am glad that this did not happen right in the middle of huge explosions.  This coin can still be a GREAT coin with the right driving force behind it and a team that is willing to listen to the community.

The Republic Coin was always designed to be a pay it forward type of coin that gave back to the community and to release a SHA256 that all could enjoy.

I am hoping that a developer in the community will want to pick this project up and run full speed with it.  I have put about $150 into this coin for the creation, resources and time (My time which I put a very low number on because I enjoy the work.)

If you know anybody that might be interested in this please let me know or have them PM me directly and quickly.  This event that has come to life in my personal matters is forcing me to even put my own company on hold so that I can give the much needed attention to the issue at hand.  I have always considered the crypto society like family and will be sad to have to step away from it even if on a temporary basis.

I have learned much from this coin in the short time.  Planning, Social Media, Launches, Contacts and taking care of those that support you are huge factors and all that goes into the creation of something to last for years with hard work.  By no means will I ever have less than appreciation for the coin creators / devs, pools, exchanges and users that keep a coin going.  I know that the community with failed coins tend to really frown upon matters like this, however I hope all can understand this is truly out of my control and would like it pass the torch on to the next that can carry this coin to success.  I will always remain one of the supporters and have spread the word to many groups around the country that are eagerly watching it and want it.

Thank you for all of your support and hope that this can continue by an interested party that is willing to contact me.

Respectfully,
KryptoKruz

Full fork of Bitcoin 0.8.6, branding and parameters separated out as per obvious.

It compiles+runs on ubuntu trusty, reads the db, syncs to node 54.225.242.168. That's as far as I've taken it. Can you pick it up from there?

Cheers

Put the code on github please.  +100 points if you properly fork.  Can do a build for Mac OS X but want to be able to create a PR for changes.

I have a feeling that your request is likely to fall on stony ground, so to speak. I'm sending you 1 BOON, out of sympathy Smiley

I confirm! Compilation without any problems, runs OK, works stable, gets sync in seconds. Good code!
And nice mining on p2p pool.

It seems that we have a really good coin for real transfers, because you don't mine it neither in millions a day nor one-hundredth a week Smiley

Here is a Mac build: https://s3.amazonaws.com/captemulation/dmg/RepublicCoin-Qt.dmg

Mavericks (10.9) only, because that is how I roll.

No, it's a new Republic Coin.

Just for the record - it's exactly the same code as the original, the only difference is that the repository is a “full fork” and the prior commit history is intact.  This will allow RepublicCoin to benefit properly from its heritage via the controlled integration of upstream improvements in the bitcoin codebase.

OK, if it is like that, what's wrong? You prefer very innovative and new coin that forks twice a hour, and because of that it's unusable??

I think we may be at cross-purposes here.

I thought I saw a mistaken perception emerging that the repository contained a “new Republicoin”.

I wanted to make it crystal clear that a “Full fork of Bitcoin 0.8.6, branding and parameters separated out as per obvious.” is exactly the same code as the original, except with the prior commit history intact.

There's nothing “new” about the coin at all. I set up a new repository, holding the old code.

Claro?

OK, so am I correct in thinking

- the coin is the same as it was when launched at the end of June
- KryptoKruz (the original dev) has left
- gjhiggins has done a bit of maintenance and CaptEmulation has compiled a Mac wallet, but neither of them are "full-time dev"
- the only market is Alcurex and there are no buyers there.

If so, then we need someone doing marketing of the coin.

COINMINERS Server will be down for 2h , we need to migrate the server to a new one so we can solve the disconnecting problem , the problem was on the serve side, we spoke with the hosting company and they said that they need to move my server to a new one , so COINMINERS will have  2h downtime until the server will be moved to new one.

I apologize for the inconvenience created

The dev has left? Yes! Do you know the Litecoin devs? They have left a lot of time before!

The only market? Yes! The original dev is not very good in negotiating with exchanges!

But the coin is stable! No forks, no technical problems! What else do you need?

Wait some months and you'll see if it's good or not.

Attention All

I thought I would give an update as many people continue to express an interest in RepublicCoin continuing on.  People have been contacting me who want this coin to continue and range from all types of backgrounds from PHP developers, Wallet Developers, Exchanges, Pools and ever a couple of devs.  The steam is still within this coin and I am giving the information as quickly as I can to those who are mailing me for information.

I understand and have also passed on to those wanting to help that the re-targeting difficulty and TAG need to be adjusted with the RepublicCoin.

For myself I am doing all that I can to get the family matter under control, but when mental illness is part of the challenge the road is that much more difficult, however I want to come back and be part of the coin if not as a member of the dev / mgmt group I will always be a huge supporter.

I have reviewed the forum and seen that a github space was created and appreciate that.  The support of the community for this coin is one of the few things that is giving me energy and a smile.  We are still seeking a seasoned coder dev who wants to take this project on.  I have the word out there being passed along.  I have even had a few people that have mentioned making this a coin that can be moved into much larger networks that are on the cusp of newer technological developments is awesome!

I will stay in touch as much as I can.  I am even possibly having to take time off from my day job to try and resolve the family matter for promptly and be able to actively continue work with the coin.  Thank you all for the outpouring of support for RepublicCoin from the new pools that have come online and other exchanges and even wallet developers.

Respectfully,
KryptoKruz

Here is another way to get all the wallets mining.

The easiest way to mine your first coins is by opening the debug console window in the wallet and typing 'setgenerate true'. This will start CPU mining. Type 'getmininginfo' in order to view your hash rate.

Hope this helps.
