Well, the whole (US-) "Libertarian principle" is a fad, actually, as they get history wrong again and again. Some say it was introduced on purpose by powerful corporate players. In reality, markets and money did not evolve from voluntary interactions, they were introduced by the force of kings and rulers to get the populace to support soldiers. Required reading:
