I'm considering buying stocks in a brokerage account and selling equivalent contracts for bitcoin. This would allow anyone to invest in equity markets without compromising their identity or jumping through hoops. My broker would verify the assets in my account, and I would publish an exhaustive list of my liabilities to demonstrate that I am solvent.

Would you be interested in such a service?

What price would you pay? (i.e. you would exchange $10X for a contract worth $100 of google stock. price = X%) I would have to cover my trading costs.

I'm gonna quote myself here: Smiley

"Sure, I'll just send my hard earned money to you, unknown person on an online forum. Seems like a good business idea. Oh boy, will there be a big juicy bonus for me as well ? Do you need my bank credentials and security details in before hand, to deposit more money ?"

I am so clever that sometimes I don't understand a single word of what I am saying.

Regulated trade requires regulated currencies.
You can't legally buy stocks, bonds or securities in the USA without USD. You can have a purchasing agent buy them for you (E-trade is a purchasing agent for example) but they pay for them in USD.
Also you can also do it with Cryptostocks just I don't know how trusted this is so do it on your own risk.

This holds true in EU too. Until bitcoin is widely accepted as official payment intrument, brokers will have problems directly accepting btc payments.

I think what you are describing is already in action here, although they have a high minimum investment. http://www.bitcointrust.co/

Are you as an individual offering this service?
Have you thought of legal and compliance issues?
Would you (or the Government) be okay if people from North Korea invested in US stocks through this manner?

Quite an interesting idea.  Can you address the above insofar as how you would differ from bitcointrust.co offering?

I would be interested in seeing a contract in relation to such an activity.  On the face of it, it seems like you would be operating an unlisted fund kind of thing.. but the regulatory issues might be crippling.  Good luck in any case.

Who the fuck resurrected this topic?  Did you guys who posted replies to OP realize this thread is like 1.5+ years old?  Obviously he didn't get his poorly-conceived scam proposal off the ground because he made a whopping 2 posts with his bitcointalk account.

This is like that fucking bitcoin-for-cupcakes thread that keeps getting necro'ed.  Stop shitposting in dead threads.  Why don't mods lock these??

After further research, it looked like the regulatory burden would have been too great in my jurisdiction. Furthermore I started a new job which comes with its own responsibilities & obligations which may have created conflict of interest with this idea. Therefore, I abandoned the idea. Thanks all for the interesting feedback!

lol no problem.   I would have no interest in such a service as I buy stock through a brokerage.   Are you still involved in bitcoin/crypto?

Its good of course to have Bitcoin. But you must make an investment not so low and that is really important.
I hope of course also that more people will use Bitcoin and that they can also have some good profit.

I dont know oif it will be that good to have so much Bitcoin. Because it can also fall down in value.
And that will be not good for you in the future, because you can lose a lot of money.
