Hmmm the Guido Fawkes blog is a rightwing political gossip site, surprised Dave and his cronies would have it blocked. We really need to fight back against this censorship, can only get worse in the future.

Most probably a dns filter as thats the one of the easiest route unless they have some skilled admins who can come up with something similar to the "great firewall" of china

Filtering is a mine-field, whether it's analysing content or curated category driven. I cannot see what will ever change this situation in the near future. Mind you, there's plenty of salesman who manage to sell this tosh with the governments full backing

If its DNS filtering then check out DNSCrypt

It works by encrypting all DNS traffic between the user and for example OpenDNS, preventing any DNS filters in between from interfering with the DNS request. It is an implementation of DNSCurve by Dan Bernstein.
