Not sure if this is the right forum for this but there's the following 2012 Casascius Bitcoin on eBay.  It is redeemed and doesn't have a hologram.  Also looks like it was never funded. Do you guys know the story behind this?

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

There's a lot of information on how the Casascius coins were created, sold, work/redeemed, etc. If you google Casascius you'll find the answers you're looking for.
