There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

These guys have got it going:
Quote
Gox-self-help is a unique group of Mt. Gox depositors, founded by Oliver Egginger, that has grown to over one hundred members who all have had their bitcoins and cash tied up in the Mt. Gox bankruptcy proceeding. The group's best known initiative is an open letter to the bankruptcy trustee, Nobuaki Kobayashi, asking for him to clarify the situation. Since Mt. Gox closed its doors at the end of February, very little information has trickled out about what really happened to the depositor's money. Gox-self-help hopes for much greater disclosure, especially once the police investigation starts to wind down.

The group's open letter is reaching its final stage of development. If you are a Mt. Gox depositor, or merely an interested party, please feel free to join the mailing list and give us some of your feedback. The more ideas we get, the better our final letter will be.

Publication of our open letter to Mr. Kobayashi is scheduled for the middle of October.

To join the gox-self-help mailing list, please send a blank email to:

gox-self-help-join@list.olivere.de

Subject and body will be ignored. You will receive a confirmation mail. To confirm that you want to be added to this mailing list, simply reply to this message, keeping the subject intact.

Sure, I get it. Everyone is annoyed beyond belief about the lack of progress on Mt. Gox, and sick and tired of hearing about it. Oliver is trying to do something about those feelings of frustration. If you've been goxed, then what do you have to lose by subscribing to his gox-self-help mailing list? It costs you nothing. Please send a message right this minute to:

gox-self-help-join@list.olivere.de

Oliver needs your support and can use it now!

The title of this thread is incorrect, the company is spelled "Tibanne" or "Tibane" depending on the context (without the second "i").

Tibanne demanded more kitty litter and a new addition to the cat condo.

Indeed, it is unfortunate that Tibanne is officially a separate company that is a creditor of MtGOX.

I do not know why they are being paid before the account holders, but there is a priority list for payments mandated by law (employees first, excluding management; then ...; then investors; then, for last, managers).  Presumably, as service providers, they are somewhere in "...", before the account holders (which may be regarded as investors).

I insist: former MtGOX account holders must, individually or in groups, hire a lawyer familiar with Japanes bankruptcy law, and let him interact with the liquidator.  The lawyer will know what are the right questions to ask (such as, "why is Tibanne being paid before us", "how will the claims be computed", "is the disappearance of the 600'000 coins being investigated", etc.).  He will know how to ask those questions so as to maximize the chances of a useful reply (which is not by email, not personally, but by a paper letter in proper legalese, signed by a lawyer).  He will know how to request that the liquidator considers Tibanne as management rather than a service provider, if such is possible by law.

Trust the adage, "he who chooses to be his own lawyer has a fool for lawyer and a fool for client."

Through JADA,the Japanese Government is now portraying itself as "bitcoin friendly". Part of making things like the bankruptcy process for Mt. Gox friendly is through having lots of transparency about it, and by making things very easy to understand. Full disclosure of what brought Mt. Gox down, once the police investigation is complete, should also make for a very convivial atmosphere in Japan.

Trust the adage, "he who chooses to be his own lawyer has a fool for lawyer and a fool for client."

This adage is a good rule, although the need to have a lawyer should never lead to the suspension of common sense. The official narrative, such as it is, lacks clarity and gives the impression that the inmates may be running the asylum.
