First - it is 832 Mh/s...

Second - how long are you willing to wait for the Rig Box?  You can probably mine with those 50 singles for 3-4 months before the rig box gets delivered and make up the incremental cost...

If both were available for purchase and had the same leadtime it is a "no brainer" with respect to total spend to yield greatest Gh/s.

What happens if 1 unit fails out of warranty (only 6 months).   With singles he loses 2% of hashpower and $700 investment.  With 1 rigbox he loses 100% of hashing power and $30K investment.

i emailed sonny just to get a status update and estimated shipping for my order that was placed on feb22nd

he replied

  Hi Tim,

The lead time on your unit was six weeks and we're now just past that due to initial production issues which pushed back the group your order was in.  The production issues have been resolved and we've been shipping in volume.  Nonetheless, your unit position won't ship until the end of this month.
 
If that is unacceptable to you, you are entitled to a full refund for our missing your lead time deadline.

The good news is that your order position will be filled with improved Rev 3 units with a proprietary heat pipe thermal solution. See the Cad rendering of the unit and a Rev 2 board on the website so you can see the difference.  This will give you a greater range of heat operation and better allow for faster firmware upgrades via download in the future.
 
Please let me know if you would rather not wait.

BFL has nothing to lose right now offering a refund as demand > supply.  That said, good on them for offering it for missing the quoted delivery window.

Le sigh... still another 5-6 weeks to go for me then...

I would think that soon they would be able to ramp up production to quantities that would allow them to more realistically meet the 4-6 week deadline.

I really hope that they're not still populating these boards in house...
