It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

I'm interested in being a human guinea pig as well :p

I've actually done this before for a few different medical studies, I  always wanted to get in to one of the 2 week or month long sleep studies where they lock you in a room with no internet and no cell phones or clock...

But alas, I have been unable to find any. But they usually pay really well! $$$$
