We will get there I am sure. if features work as they do and if Navajo can position itself as a unique coin with features that people find useful and keeps on being developed.

However If the thread gets filled with superficial screaming that we go to the moon without facts or arguments (with as a result that important info gets lost in the pages) new folks that glance at the thread will likely be scared of... I like the enthusiasm though don't get me wrong.. but it can also backfire

-my 2 cents...

constant predictions like going to the moon, definitely going up to xxxx sat once the update is out can backfire when you predicted wrong. it is better to talk about the coming update features
than the price it will add to nav

Point noted and totally agree and I think the new guys have alot more to add to the conversation now. We have fought the fight for to long and I can't get the new perspective nor want to spoil it for anyone. I really feel its time we passed the banner on to the new guys who have new enthusim and new ideas and new money. You are the guys that have mostly come in at about 2000 - 3000 Sats. I agree most of us old guys keep saying to the moon , buy cheap NavajoCoins price will be $10 . Today I opolgise for that.

So no more superficial screaming. I think we need to see the new NavajoCoin community shine and let them take this coin forward  Cheesy

here's what's unique to navajo :  ( quoting pakage )

The first layer is that all communication between the wallet and our API server is encrypted and sent over SSL. As is the communication between the Nodes and the API. This means that someone who is actively reading the data coming in and out of your IP address or in and out of our servers can not decipher what is being transmitted into plain text.

The second layer is that the destination address will be encrypted by the wallet using an Asynchronous encryption key pair.

Asynchronous encryption means that the wallet will get supplied with a public key which can encrypt data but can NOT decrypt data. The Nodes will retain the private key and never broadcast it. The private key is the only thing which can decrypt something encrypted by the public key. This means that at no point in time is anything broadcast which can be used to decrypt the destination address and the destination address is encrypted before leaving the wallet, so the destination address is never ever transmitted in plain text or in a format which can be deciphered.

These key pairs are regularly replaced on the servers, as to protect past transactions from if a security breach occurs.

We do of course use the block chain to transmit the final destination address and by encrypting the destination address, no one can simply view the address by looking at the block chain.

When we transmit on the subchain we decrypt and then re-encrypt the destination address with a new key pair and send it in a similar manner to the outgoing servers and this all also happens over encrypted SSL communication.

I hope this makes the process a bit clearer and hopefully explains why it is a complex thing to achieve!

Cheers,
Pakage

Okay, im one of the new screamers because I believe in the team, and hashforce is the man. Truly anonymous is what we should thrive for, and claims of actual anonimity  is nothing to take lightly. We should strive to take the power from established snake oil vendors who took over long ago..

Its the future and the new generation owns it. With that being said, I believe in the idea buTT the main issue I have with the whole ordeal is time framing. I've been trying to sync my wallet for a week now and still have 345 thousand blocks left. Is there anyway to get this time frame down??

Also these wallets look close to one another, is there any way to get graphics up so it doesnt look like another wallet, but something new altogether, im not talking about function but aesthetics. Presentation counts guys. The market values on the wallet are awesome..the encrypted chat is something else, maybe a feature so dont have to register.. but rather pick any new name and people can reach you on there. Maybe a list of names you can use and people can use either names and reach you.. but nobody knows you with the same name..the only problem i see is reacurring names but you can probably add a string of numbers after name that it puts in automatically so theres no reacuring situation. Cocacola123...cocacola1450, etc

and lastly which is far fetched but if we could pull this off its legendary.. a buy in program where you can swap fiat for coins.. hear me out. You can piggyback it off an existing system like moneygram online. You send yourself the cash and swap it out for coins..then you can put a feature on wallet where the "countup" to how many coins your racking up offsets the average chargeback time, so the average consumer is waiting for all his coins to load.. while the scammer is waiting a week for chargeback.. Any issues.. moneygram takes the hit.. basically a way for anyone to buy into the coin while minimizing risk. long dream but you know thats what needs to be done eventually.

Its easier to swap btc for fiat.. than fiat for btc, when we can change that we'd be swimming in the butterzone.

Discussions need to be about why people should invest in this coin (without making it a discussion like: "I have a lot... I want to get rich so you should buy now" sort of arguments etc etc... many coin have respected and active developers etc so that doesn't make NAV special either and isnt a strong argument)...

I know the anon encryption is novel state-of-the-art as is the use of subchains... but would that be sufficient for new investors to invest? Why are subchains so novel an potentially interesting? what are the new opportunities that these features bring? Explaining this in layman's terms in a few sentences can help getting interested and read up further (in the white paper for example).

In other words why is NAV standing out? How can you convince new folks in layman's terms why Navajo is the one out of 400+ altcoins to invest in this one? Just stating it is the first true anon may not be sufficient...

Don't get me wrong...I am not talking down NAV ( I love the coin and that is why I am actually posting here which I normally rarely do).. I just want the positive aspects of NAV more highlighted so that folks that take 5 seconds to check the thread may get interested.

Edit: I was typing all of the above when discussions and input already were posted... keep it up!

Nav has quite a few good things going for it. It was reborn out of summercoin back in July last year - nearly 8 months ago and we all know that 8 months is a very long time in crypto. It certainly can't be called a shitcoin as it is still here and doing exactly what the dev said it would. The Dev and the team HAVE delivered on EVERYTHING they have said and the new anon features etc. are kind of unique. If you also look at the pages and pages on here (460+) there are not many threads that big and the community is growing stronger everyday. We (Nav) don't have the luxury of a huge marketing budget but i am sure that soon enough that will change as the campaign continues.

To use a comparison to music - there are hundreds if not thousands of Lennon and McCartneys in bedrooms all over the world - they just need to be heard by a wider audience. Nav is that Lennon and McCartney and its about to break out of the bedroom and into the mainstream crypto world!  Smiley

NAV will rock in the month of March, now very close to make new history with it's innovation.
once Anon+ double Encryption done then price will go to the Mars.

I must admit that it is a long time that I do not do a boot blockchain from scratch (I've made too many in the past  Grin),
but from what you say there might be a total duration of about 10 days, it seems really exaggerated.

The 'Currente number of block' shown in the Debug window, advancing on a regular basis,
or stopped at a specific block?
The wallet may have simply frozen, try to restart it. The wallet will start again from the point where you left off.

Are you sure you have no other hardware or software problems on your PC?
For example, a harddisk that for some reason has an access time which is too slow,
may adversely affect the time necessary to complete the update.

Another reason is that you might have a connection too slow, or the wallet is able
to establish only a low number of connections.

However, there is also the blockchain in zip format, which significantly shortens the
time necessary to complete the initial update.

Sorry I got ahead of myself. I open the wallet for a couple of hours while im surfing and shut down with computer. Have not had on for day and night for days on end.

What I meant to ask is what is the main difference between something like electrum wallet? that is open and running straight away,  vs. these wallets that you have to sync.. I meant it from a simpleton point of view. Like long term for wider adoption nobody wants to wait for anything.

So you complained about something that you have not even tried to do. ^_^

I know little the electrum wallet, then I could say nonsense, but I seem to have been
designed primarily for systems of type "pure POW", where the task of advancing the
blockchain and make it safe and decentralized, is entrusted to the many miners,
while in the case of the project electrum the data blockchain, is stored on a number of external servers.

Instead in the currencies of type "pure POS", as Navajocoin, is a precise task of each wallet open,
to check transactions and stake coming in the blockchain, based on the operations previously stored,
of which every wallet retain a copy distributed.

A lightweight version of the wallet, I would say almost amputated, so without the ability to
verify the operation and / or staking, perhaps it would be possible, but if it were used massively,
would be at the expense of decentralization and global security of the network.

In any case, if as suggested by Soopy in the future there will be a reduced version of the wallet
for the web, there will be the no need of a lite version of wallet.

Regarding the fact that no one wants to wait, especially young people, I do not say anything...
I prefer to leave it to do HashForce, he rightly repeats a phrase in this regard.  ^__^
