I am wondering if there is any interest in a group buy for assembly of a minion based miner. In quantities over 150 technobit will give a 20% discount. Blackarrow has offered 100 minion chips for each x-3 order. Which means per order you can build 25- 4 chip miners. I don't have any experience in a group buy but I wanted to just see if someone in the community was willing to take up this job and if there is interest.

Can you post a link? I have 142 chips to possibly add in.

We were not doing it on the forums, may change that.

Just don't buy the Freezer 7 Pro from Technobit. Much cheaper in US, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835186134. I believe you need one for each Minion chip.

If Minersource does not work out for some reason, we will need 600-630 chips to get 20% off.

142 from me for 35 miners.
100 from coda for 25 miners.

We still need at least 360 chips for 90 miners. If Blackarrow is right about 2-5% dead chips, then we should shoot for 630+ chips to make sure we have 150 working miners.

guys

i don't understand well the terms of technobit:

terms of delivery ?
is it 4 weeks or max 2 week after the delivery of the chips ??

"DELIVERY UP TO 2 WEEKS AFTER RECEIVING OF YOUR CHIPS"
"Shipment up to 4 weeks after reciept  chips"

what does this means also ?

"Excluding the Intel socet 1150 compatible coller for each chip top"
"EXCLUDING THE TOP CHIP COOLER"

they say "INCLUDING BASE HEAT SINK and FAN"
 Huh Huh
English is not my mother language could you explain me more what this remains ?

with the cgminer host and power supply,
are theses part (top chip cooler&intel socet 1150 compatible cooler) all i need to run the boards ?

also there's another design https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=422243.0
maybe cheaper ??

I think it was mention on another forum but Technobit might be willing to take chips in exchange for assembly. So maybe two chips for a completed board. That means we can get 15 -4 chip boards with 10 left to cover any bad chips. This would work for me. Less out of pocket and we would get about 6TH of mining power.

contact bobsag for a group buy until thurstday
there's also a possibility to pay in chips but it's a bit expensive
(4 chips taken to assemble 4 chips on a board - 50% taken)
