Indeed. I am tired of all this BFL and ZTEX and other FPGA junk in the GPU forum.

I won't be buying any FPGA any time soon so might as well move it out of the way for now.

Thanks !

The posts in support for FPGA subforum should be in the Meta section:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=62257.0

Last time there were only 2 supporters.

Maybe second time is a charm?

Out of the game ?

I don't think so. As long as the fans are spinning, the miners are mining Wink

Let me know in some years how well your FPGA junk lasted because GPUs are proven to last for ages while FPGA will die in / after 6 months according to BFL's shitty warranty.

Holy cow dude, you have it all completely backward. In any case, why are you using BFL's 6 month warranty for comparison, when you could be using ztex's 2 YEAR warranty? Really, your posts are more and more worthless every day, and you need to do some research and get some common sense.

Maybe we should make a GPU subforum instead. I dunno, when I look at hardware I would expect to see more general hardware stuff. Like the watercooling thread, new backplanes, motherboards, cheap miner builds. Instead its almost all GPU threads (13+) vs 6/7 for FPGA. It's to be expected since gpus are so important to mining, but maybe thats just another argument for a forum just about them.  Then as the FPGA activity increases, make one for those too. Just seems more logical that way.

what about this:

bitcointalk.org
-gpu
--software
--hardware
-fpga
--software
--hardware

or

-software

I think that's too many subforums. Especially given that some mining software is compatible with both GPUs and FPGAs. My vote is for just the addition of one subforum for FPGAs, as a child to the Mining->Hardware subforum.

Agreed.  Too many.   Software does not need to be broken out.

I also think FPGA as a subforum either under hardware or under the parent mining.  You could break out GPU but I do not think it is necessary.  I think it would bring a little more order to the forums.

No need.  Hardware subforum is the place to post your FPGA stuff.

If you create too much subforums this place will looks like OGRR :-)

Would make it quicker to find fpga discussions. Or maybe a GPU sub-forum would make more sense since at halving-time GPU miners will quit
and the GPU discussions will be less frequent.

I looked at OGRR and instantly shut it down. How on earth are you supposed to find anything, or even READ the damn site?

I think it's necessary division between VGA and FPGA.
I would have to include FPGA / ASIC for a possible future.

Name current forum "GPU Hardware" and other forum "FPGA Hardware".

While we're at it, might as well get ready for an "ASIC Hardware" too.

I also think FPGA as a subforum either under hardware or under the parent mining.

Wrong, that's GPUs that belong in parent mining (i.e. mining while parents pay for electricity).
