There’s a Lot of Bitcoin Hype, But Where Can You Actually Use Them?

There has been a lot of buzz about Bitcoin this year. First, there were questions about the volatile nature of a cryptocurrency followed by whirling prices and the eventually collapse of Mt. Gox, the once bitcoin exchange giant. No matter what side of the news story Bitcoin has been on, retailers have been watching closely.

The evolution of Bitcoin is happening right before our eyes and even some of the biggest online retailers are starting to accept the currency online. In fact, you can buy everything from the latest iPhone to bedding or web hosting using Bitcoin.

The forum strives to allow free discussion of any ideas. All policies are built around this principle. This doesn't mean you can post garbage, though: posts should actually contain ideas, and these ideas should be argued reasonably.
Advertised sites are not endorsed by the Bitcoin Forum. They may be unsafe, untrustworthy, or illegal in your jurisdiction.

It's surprising at how many stores there are that keep popping up and what you can actually buy. I keep stumbling upon shops that accept btc all the time. Can't wait for what the future holds.

For now, the "hype" is justified. Bitcoin is looking like a genuine, amazing story unfolding as we speak about it.  Smiley

Makes sense that a retarded population in debt cares more about spending them instead of saving.

I'm tired of trying to cater to morons that don't understand money.

I wish there was more focus on the YOY BTC gains long-term compared to the scam of bank interest earned.  Why nobody has made a professional pitch marketing this yet is beyond me.

They forgot newegg.com
More important, they forgot expedia.com.

I still find the acceptance of Bitcoin over at Expedia the most amazing story.
Not only do they accept Bitcoin, they place it alongside credit cards and Paypal on the same level. They don't accept hundreds of different payment methods via a generic provider. And they're in an industry where the advantages of Bitcoin could potentially be huge.

Yeah, well, I'm gonna go build my own blockchain. With blackjack and hookers! In fact forget the blockchain.

You can't put everything in one articles guys, trust me, everyone on CT knows about newegg and expedia.
For example, here is an article about expedia - https://cointelegraph.com/news/111773/woohoo_expedia_announces_bitcoin_acceptance
Anyway any additions are welcomed  Cheesy

Why would the hype not be justified? I can't think of a single reason...

I mean, I was amazed by the fact you could already pay with Bitcoins for Humble Bundle's and such at a very early stage, and now Newegg and such company's are accepting the thing it is all going to skyrocket.
I bet we can expect the first big car company's to accept Bitcoin within a year.

I think the break thru would come when one of the large supermarket chains accept BTC

People I speak to want to see a currency being used in everyday use. {Buying bread and groceries and filling up with fuel} Until then, they see it as geek money or a alternative to Paypal / credit cards etc.

But with so little BTC being liquid, I doubt if we ready to go mass adoption. Most people use BTC now, to store value and as a investment vehicle. {Hoard}

Any fears of a BTC "liquidity issue" can be solved with much higher prices. There will always be at least a few people willing to sell.  Smiley

Yeah, I really hope Coinbase or one of our people are trying to get a major supermarket on board by allowing discounts to purchase food, booze or what not. That's when the average boob will really perk up since we all know women like to use coupons when shopping for the family.

If Bitcoin is a hype, what is the stock market then? On almost every mainstream TV channel, newspaper or website they try to talk me into stocks and it has been going on as long as I can think.
