I am in the market for a new ultrabook. I don't plan on it being my main computer, but it will probably be used quite a bit.

I am looking at 3 laptops currently

1. Dell XPS 13
2. HP EliteBook 1040 G1
3. Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 2

all the laptops listed seem pretty nice from what I can tell. I would like to keep price under $1300

I am open to all opinions

Thanks

Hello Tardbot 3000,

All of those are pretty important, as long as the price is <$1300

The dell would be my ultrabook from the 3 you mention, but it's all personal.

You can also try look at the Macbook pro retina, if you are willing to have a wider look of what's available.

the xps 13 is really polished.. i liked it quite a bit. it's probably smaller than the other two ultrabooks, since they shaved some space out of the bezel/screen.

That's nice Tardbot, that's nice.

Would avoid Dell, they like adding backdoors for the NSA  Grin

http://rt.com/usa/dell-appelbaum-30c3-apology-027/

“Why did Dell leave a JTAG debugging interface on these servers?” asked Appelbaum. “Because it’s like leaving a vulnerability in. Is that a bugdoor, or a backdoor or just a mistake? Well hopefully they will change these things or at least make it so that if you were to see this, you would know that you have some problems. Hopefully Dell will release some information about how to mitigate this advance persistent threat.”
