I hope Hondo & devs don't get distracted by the Blocknet.

Keep your eyes on the prize! The anon send.

And what is the benefit of joining the Blocknet? I dont care for most of the coins already on the blocknet. For me they make us look shit (or risk making us look shit) by association. I dont wanna be associated (or risk association) with any shit/scam coins! How do you respond (Emilio or anybody else) to this?

What does XST gain by joining it?

Being a part of the BlockNet isn't going to distract or take away from a coin's individual development. In fact, only coins with unique development will be allowed into the network. It'll be an environment in which coins will be cooperating and sharing technology. All coins will retain their individuality, but it will allow the owners of any particular coin within the network to use the features of all of the other coins within the network. This is a new scenario in crypto...(multiple coins working together for a common cause)...I think that this scares investors, because they think that the coins will no longer have a strong individual value. The value of the coins within the BlockNet may rise a lot though, due to the fact that those coins within the BlockNet can offer a wide range of features that other coins outside of the BlockNet can't. We'll have to wait and see how this will play out, but this type of thing may end up being the norm for crypto in the future. No longer will you have individual competing coins but competing networks that host multiple coins.

Idiot proof guide a good idea.

In the meantime it is really simple to explain here:

1. Click on "File" > "Backup Wallet."
2. Select a save location (e.g. Desktop) and name the file "xst" or whatever u like
3. Copy this file to a USB stick or external storage backup.

REMEMBER: this little .dat file is the key to ur money. lose the file and u lose ur money.

nb you should also encrypt your wallet with a strong password to prevent (mitigate) theft.this is done by selecting "Settings" > "Encrypt Wallet".
IMPORTANT: If u encrypt ur wallet u must backup ur wallet again (the .dat has now changed too)

THATS IT!

ALSO STAKE UR COINS!!

★ IMPORTANT! ★

1. We should all be running Stealth Coin Qt v1.3.0.0.
2. Don't leave your XST sitting on exchanges.
3. ENCRYPT your Wallet with a strong password (Settings>Encrypt Wallet).
4. BACKUP your wallet.dat file and store in a secure place (File>Backup Wallet).
5. STAKE at least some of your coins to secure the network (Settings>Unlock Wallet)

child_harold, no coins will be dumped. The Blocknet Foundation will keep the coins used to buy blocknet tokens to fund development.
Use xst to buy tokens will increase the value of stealthcoin.
The coins that are part of blocknet will be used as money in this network to buy services and nodes. They don't will exchanged for btc. This is very cool, you don't see it?
the real reason for a cryptocoin exist: to be used as money

Welcome. I use a mac too.
Seems hard but it's easy.

1- Go to ~/Library/Application Support/StealthCoin. Copy wallet.dat and paste in another folder or in a pendrive or external HD. This is a backup of your wallet. If you have any problems and need to format your mac, just reinstall another wallet and paste this file into the stealthcoin folder. Take good care of it and be very careful to don't change by other coins. All have the same name "wallet.dat".

2- Close your wallet

3- In the same folder where you found wallet.dat (~/Library/Application Support/StealthCoin) delete this files: blk0001.dat, blkindex.dat, database, db.log, and debug.log

4- Download the blockchain from here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8rWObF4xz1YUktlOHFySUdQSVk/edit?usp=sharing

5- Unpack the blockchain files in same folder used before (~/Library/Application Support/StealthCoin)

6- Start the wallet, It may take 2 or three minutes in this first time and 5 to 10 minutes to sync

7- If you still have any doubts can ask

Hi. Thanks for all the help. Much appreciated. Followed all the steps and wallet is now syncing. However, it seems stuck on 20 days left to go on block 120810 and has been syncing for 30 mins with 12 active connections.

I was wondering if the minting is based how frequent you log in on your wallet or is it based on how long your wallet is minting. e.g. would minting 24/7 get more coins than logging in once a day.

Have you guys seen this?

It's the new stealth wallet that is in development!

And if that's not the most beautiful and user friendly interface for any coin in the market I dunno what is.
