Dr. Michael Moriarty Legit? 24 Hours Will Tell

I did an interview with Michael Moriarty in May.

In that interview, I claimed he was a good guy on the up and up....  

Now I'm not so sure.

I have evidence that clearly shows that Michael Moriarty has decided to keep a customers $80,000 deposited at bitlaunder.com because he felt that the coins were "stolen or hacked from elsewhere"  Why that gives him permission to keep $80,000 I will never know.

In back and forth discussions, Michael admitted this and we set up a deal for him to return the 125 bitcoins but instead, Michael never sent the bitcoins, and instead posted today in this very forum that he is now giving away bitcoins.

I am giving Michael 24 hours to return the funds he has already admitted he has.  If he does not I will expose the rest of what I know, and all evidence of this crime-to-be will be posted at http://antilyze.com

Do you know Dr. Michael Moriarty with a PhD from Stanford?  Please use the contact me or chat link on the page.  If he does not pay back the money he kept, I will indeed need your help in finding him.  He is the "Owner" of the "Bitcoin Network of Sites" according to his Linkedin.  He has 8 Full-time Employees and 50 sites including bitlaunder, bitforum.org, bitscams.org (funny), bitplastic, coinchimp, hotbitcoins, ​bitarmored.com, ​bitlisting.com, bitsecurity.com, bitfiverr.com, paidbitcoin.com, bitsweeps.com, bitbing.com, bitwebhosting.com, bitspeculate.com and more.  If he indeed is keeping money that is kept unlawfully, he must be brought down.  Any help on his identity from the hacker community will be greatly appreciated.

He think he's above us.  He thinks he can get away with anything.  I think there is strength in numbers, so please check out the page and also send an email to Michael telling him that we don't need his kind in the bitcoin community.

First of all, I think you should use the normal sized font. Shouting like this won't give you more credibility.
Second of all, I must admit that I'm not familiar with these events, however this looks more like a personal vendetta to me than anything else.

If bitlaunder.com is going to do more than mix coins, who would use them in the future?  Only a fool if what you say is true about him holding on to coins.

This shows why trustless mixing is important.

He's has a account here on btc talk.  He is/was (can't tell) the organizer for the chicago bitcoin meetup which he seems to use to pump his many businesses (constantly sends out advertisements to us).  He definitely seems like a shady business man that just trying to get a buck.  I wouldn't trust $1 with him.

Nope never seen him in person which is another reason why I don't really trust him.  He seems to have his hands in a lot of stuff but his identity isn't well known which makes me skeptical.

I know the guy that is currently listed on the Meetup website as the organizer for the Chicago Bitcoin Meetup.

Based on what I know about the guy, I'd be surprised if he was running bitlaunder.com.

He just took over as organizer some time in the last 9 months or so.  I'm not sure who was the organizer before that.

It was organized by a guy that went by the name of Igor prior to November.

Over 600 members and meetings with a decent turnout somewhat regularly.

If you're aware of another one, how is the turnout, and how often do they meet?  I'd be interested in meeting with a new group of people.

Have you ever seen his face?  Know his real name?  That kind of thing?

If you really want someone to dig into someones background, I recall someone in the Gambling / Lending boards who provides a type of "background check" service for BTC fee, I think its the same type of background check for loans etc. User: RiverBoatBTC but I could be thinking of the wrong person, I haven't been around those boards lately.

I recall someone talking about Moriarty a bit back and they claimed he should be avoided because he paid for an fluffy interview or article to be written about him or his sites. (I don't even remember what site or what it was even about).

As a humorous side note, Wikipedia says: Professor Moriarty is a fictional character in Sherlock Holmes books "...a real-life criminal mastermind...", "The character was introduced primarily as a narrative device to enable Conan Doyle to kill off Sherlock Holmes..."

doubt it this is his real name.  He own enumbered.com also and is big scam site for long time.  It steal my money 2 year ago so I hack it some later and i find in the database links to bitplastic and bitlaunder.  I use admin pass from enumbered on other 2 and get in.  I steal my money back then leave sites alone.  I think he start enumbered to steal money so he can start legit company but he is still thief at heart so not surprised he steal the 80k.  he bite the big fish.  It is what he wait for the whole time.

We always knew never to do business with...."

Wow, the bitcoin community has really impressed me zero today.  Protect yourselves at all cost but just let Moriarty sit there and scam people. Craziness. Whatever happened to people coming together?  I actually for the first time since I started with bitcoin back in late 2012 now think bitcoin will not make it.  And it will be the fault of the community for sitting around and doing nothing. Me included. I did the interview, and no one messaged me and said, "Hey, Michael may not be who he says" or something.  Nope, sit back and wait till a customer loses 80k then says,

"We always knew he was a scam"

I guess it makes sense.  I lost my belief in hammers for the same reason.  Sure they are a useful tool, but they'll never succeed.

I know this because there was a scammer who came through the neighborhood after the last hail storm.  He was offering to use his hammer to repair shingle damage on everyone's roof.  We all knew he was a scammer, and that he'd take the money and not fix anything.  None of us fell for his scam, but none of us stopped him either.  Regardless, it caused me to realize that hammers will never make it, and it will be the fault of the community for sitting around and doing nothing.

Apparently you aren't capable of seeing the similarities in the analogy.

(note: someone in the next neighborhood fell for the scam and paid the sammer $80,000 to have his roof fixed.  The scammer disappeared, and the roof was never fixed)

Lets try this again, only we'll leave out hammers and bitcoin.  They are both just tools with useful purposes after all. If you still can't see the similarities in the analogy, then I give up.  Hopefully your journalism background will help you analyze the situation I'm describing.
