Hi, I have a bit of an odd issue I need some help with! I purchased some goods online and paid using Bitpay, All fine I paid for the order using my BTC in my CRYPTSY account, The goods turned out to be faulty, I am returning for a refund.. Upon looking on the blockchain at the payment TXID, The fund's dont come from MY BTC wallet receive address on Cryptsy.. Just a random wallet, Which I assume is a HOT wallet of Cryptsys.. So, I contacted the merchant, They wont change the refund deposit address due to security, I contacted Bitpay they told me to contact the Merchant.. I contacted Cryptsy and they just completely ignored me, Their support is non-existent. So... My 1.5 BTC refund will go to a random HOT wallet on Cryptsy... Not back to my account? All 3 companies are giving me the run-around, Except Cryptsy who just ignore me.. Help

Looks like they only thing you can do is keep trying to contact cryptsy. Have they actually issued the refund yet? Maybe you should just try sell the product as faulty to someone if you don't hear anything back from cryptsy or can't change the company's mind. Could you not try prove that you're the person by providing proof of address or ID etc which matches with the name/address on the order?

Sorry to hear that! I also got screwed by the Cryptsy support! I forgot my pass once and then I tried to get to their support...they were keeping ignoring me for weeks and once and the only thing they were just doing was asking me if the problem still occurs and nothing else. At the end they just decided that my problem is solved and closd my case without any permition of my site. Cryptsy actually stole my money and my Zetacoins there. I still want my money back! Keep trying to contact them, but I dont have any hope anymore...:/ BR Gondel

Thanks for the response. I have sent it back, The merchant will receive it today, The Merchant have said they will not process the actual refund until I contact them again but stressed they wouldnt change the refund deposit address. Yes I think I will contact the merchant again today and ask them about proving, With I.D that I am indeed me. @Cryptsy , Your support is absolutely shocking, If no response to my ticket after a few more hours, I will be hitting twitter, Yes you @BigVern will be getting spammed!

I've always got a reply from Cryptsy whenever I had an issue, and I have had quite a few! Not sticking up for them or anything, you just have to be patient and wait for them to get back to you.
I bet you learned a valuable lesson from this experience though!

Thanks for response, I opened the ticket 22 hours ago: Agent Working on This Ticket Mullick Technical Support Manager (Tier 2) Status: Being processed 22 hours, Am I being impatient? Yes I have learnt a lesson, WHEN USING BITPAY ALWAYS PAY FROM YOUR PERSONAL WALLET, NEVER AN EXCHANGE BECAUSE IF YOU NEED A REFUND - NIGHTMARE.

The longest I have waited is 3 days to get an issue sorted (and response). Your situation is a tad different , I will admit. Have you tried speaking to a mod/staff in the Cryptsy chat? Someone might be able to help you there.

Yeah I spoke to Horus in the chat, He forwarded my ticket to the 'Wallet team' , 14 hours ago.
I suppose I'm just being impatient, I will give Cryptsy some more time to respond.

I've been waiting months for an "approved" coin resend of a transaction that never made it out of Cryptsy's wallet in the first place.
From what I've seen, I'm not alone in my plight.
They're either incompetent idiots or outright thieves.
Long and short of it, patience and lots of hope (especially keeping in mind that most of their "tech support" is probably made up of sock puppets).

alot of impatient people hear.
most companies that have text support (email/forum/ticket) do not rspond in a few hours... always expect 48 hours....
then ontop of this remember unlike your bank or a corporation with teams of people employed for support. bitcoin businesses are start-ups, with probably only a handful of employee's where support is not their main task but part of multiple tasks. so BE PATIENT.
and as for the OP, the lesson to learn and for others to learn
STOP USING THIRD PARTIES AS A WALLET!!!
everything from exchanges being dodgy not owning the privkey hacking forgetting passwords websites going offline/shutdown
will people move away from the sheeple training of FIAT (to trust third parties) and truly move into the bitcoin mindset.. OWN your coins in your OWN wallet

I see your point but sorry, I trade on Cryptsy regularly so had a couple BTC there, I wanted to pay for goods so I used that BTC I had there, I have most my BTC in my personal local wallet. At the time I didnt think it would be an issue paying with MY BTC on MY account on Cryptsy. How wrong I was :/

How wrong I was :/ atleast you know now, dont feel too bad, many people have had the same issue. especially the early users of things like satoshidice. they paid using exchanges then realised their wins went to someone else. a couple people that bought miners (i think it was BFL) that only refunded to the payment address, which yep you guessed it, the refund went to someone else

Sounds like the refunded to a payout address which you don't own (big reason you never use your exchange account any exchange to buy goods and services etc). PM me all the details its a manual process to try and get these back so its not at all fast.

Not bad. Got to start a thread here to get Cryptsy support in action? Could I ask you to review all open tickets that are more than a month old? Mine's a pittance, but I'd still like to finally have my coins sent to me . . .

Its more an issue of with 250,000 accounts and about 40 employees sometimes folks get stuck in the mix we work really hard to try to get everyone. Its the manual issues that require wallet and DB level access that get bottle necked like TR8888's issue. Obviously that type of access is extremely restricted
