Hello, I have a friend who is having issues with his coins wallet syncing fully. It will sometimes say 6 hours or 8 hours left after the blockchain has been fully downloaded to the last block.

Does anyone know a solution to this problem and if so can you please explain it to me so I can explain to him how to fix this.

Thanks,
Anarchist.

Doesn't your friend own a keyboard  Wink?

Is it a live blockchain or something behind closed doors? If it's live and people are mining it, a common problem is that the difficulty has been driven up by a whale or pool who have stopped mining the coin. The remaining miners might be struggling to find blocks because their hash power isn't enough to find blocks set to the high difficulty.

If this is the case, you have two solutions:

1) Get more hash power

2) Get a decent difficulty retargeting system. If the coin is X11 PoW/PoS this isn't going to be easy if you're relying on a cloned source because there only seems to be the native Peercoin or Novacoin retargeting alternatives and both of these are abysmal.

My friend does not speak english very well, hence why I am posting it instead of him.

It is a live coin yes with a difficulty of over 4000 right now. 99% of the coins have been mined with only a few million left.
