What kind of traffic does your site get? I'm a writer and I'm always looking for new outlets to publish stuff, but the value of receiving 100% of the ad revenue is very difficult to gauge without knowing whether you are getting any traffic yet.
Also please clarify - when you say "veterans are those that became contributors before any announcements for paid contributions." do you mean before now, or do you mean that you plan to pay a per word or per article rate in the future and anybody who contributes now will be considered a veteran at that point?
Finally, are you providing specific briefs for articles you want or expecting contributors to come up with their own topics to write about?
I am currently receiving 450 uniques a day with 1,000+ page views. Let me clarify "veterans", that was a bit confusing. A veteran will be anyone who is already enrolled as a contributor before paid contributions start.
Contributors can supply their own content, but I would be more than happy to delegate if you end up stuck looking for a site to review. I have around 75+ right now that Im trying to do myself as well as build the site. hints the need for contributors lol. So basically if you have a direction you want to go let me know and if we need to add a new category to the site great, thats what Im shooting for (a cryptorectory), but if you need some guidance I am here as well to shovel some things off my plate on to yours. The better the reviews and content of the posts will determine the amount of traffic and ad sells the site receives.
Once the site is making money, so will the contributors. I have not made a set plan for paying contributors yet, but I am thinking of implementing a profit share that offers contributors a % of total ad revenue based on their activity. The end goal is to take 15% of ad sells for the site admin, 5% for the site and the other 80% will be dispersed evenly based on contributions. Heres an example:
The week ends and the site makes $200 in ad revenue
$30 will be split between admin
$10 goes back into the site
$160 gets divided by every one who contributes (based on their contributions)

You - 10 posts (62.5% of activity) $100 earned
me - 5 posts (31.25% of activity) $50 earned
guy - 1 post (6.25% of activity) $10 earned
There is still work needed on this model but that is the basic system. Obviously if someone makes 3 posts that were under 100 words each they will not receive the same reward as someone that writes 3 posts that were over 150 words. Content will be a factor as well.
The mechanism of the website sounds very attractive. I'd be interested as well.
I'm curious about your traffic and the way your website will be making profits, as you're offering 100% of the ad slot's value and even more for veterans.
I am offering 100% ad revenue on the page ad on the contribution page you create. All other ad revenue will go to the site. Read above about my idea for profit sharing, this is the direction I am heading for contributors to get paid for their content.
Sorry for the delay guys, I was having issues with how the menu bar on the site looked as well as the leaderhead banner being so close to the page sponsor banner that I just decided to completely reformat the site. LOL. Looks pretty good now though. Add some new ad features as well, like the site sponsor which allows someone to have 2 static banners throughout the site.
