It's not official, and never will be, but it doesn't need to be. If people are using it thgen people are using it. Who even has the authority to make it official?

Bitcoin has officially become the one world currency

Feel free to debate below.

I'd like to here your opinions on this Mr Truong. Is it part of the 13 terrorist bloodlines? lol.

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

Unfortunately, BTC is far away of being a currency at all. It is used (as I wrote in a different thread already) much more like a commodity which is no good as a currency and a commodity have completely different purposes.

My only hope is that - despite the volatility in the market - shops, sellers and businesses will accept BTC on a wider and broader base over time. When that happens, BTC will go away form being used as a commodity and will be more used as a currency.

But that will take time. A few years at least (unless a real big player like Apple, Google, Paypal - you get the idea - would introduce it in their business model. I would live to pay my adwords with bitcoin!)

In what capacity has it 'officially' become a one world currency?
Insofar that if you try to deny the power of bitcoin, we send the Reptillian special agents to abduct and probe you until you see the error of your ways.

Remember Aaron Swartz, a 26 year old computer scientist who died defending the free flow of information.

it actually is technically official

if a business registers their brand in one state. its officially recognized by that state as existing. if a brand registers its trade name with all states, then that is officially national. if a brand registers its trade name in multiple countries then its officially an international company/brand, even though it does not have to exist in every country, just more then a couple.

well bitcoin is recognized by more than one countries government officially, in the form of tax rules and policies.
US, Canada,UK, to name three..

then theres china russia bolivia australia germany belgium france that all have their own policies..

so it is international.

expecting a rebuttle about euro being multi- not inter- thus the naive opinion that bitcoin is multi- also
the euro is fixed to set countries so although internationally used, due to it being fixed to the euro zone, it makes it 'multinational' but bitcoin is not fixed, anyone can use it in any country. so again international

I DO NOT TRADE OR ACT AS ESCROW ON THIS FORUM EVER.
Please do your own research & respect what is written here as both opinion & information gleaned from experience. many people replying with insults but no on-topic content substance, automatically are 'facepalmed' and yawned at

the "official" one world currency will come from the IMF and no one else

and surely they won't adopt BTC but rather roll out their own

True I can see the IMF releasing its own version of foreign aid digital currency
Then telling them to pay it back with resources and physical goods and not fiat Smiley

It's not officiall anything yet, but It'd be cool if it did become a one world currency. I'm sure this will get the conspiracy theorists rattling though  Tongue.

I don't see how bitcoin has become the "official" world currency, it is used by less then 1% of the world population, used in less amount of transactions, has a market cap well under even a very small country's GDP. I think bitcoin has potential but it has a very long way to go before it could be considered an official world currency

I will wait for the day when people compare their currencies like euro, yen , usd with BTC to see their currency's strength.
