Bter.com froze 3129000 NXT and need you help to return to the owner

This is the admin of Bter.com. I have already created a post at

To make sure the fact won't be manipulated in that thread, I post it again at bitcointalk:

We have frozen two suspicious accouts (from the same user) .
One has 1629000 NXT left and one has 1500000 NXT left.
One account also has  1.9135BTC and 1.1922 LTC left.

We heard that it was stolen from the NXT community funds.
To support the NXT community, we would like to return the frozen funds to whom it belongs to.

However, we got two requests who claimed he was "Androklis Polymenis" and asked for the funds.
To be safe, we need the community help us to identify the real owner.
We would like to return the funds to him publicly.

We hope the owner of the NXT team can provide an address in public every one can trust, and we will send the funds to that address.

I'd like to add my weight to this....I've been following the developments on the theft and I can vouch for both Damelon and Klee.
Part of the stolen funds are actually NXT community funds, not purely Klees personal funds, he was acting as a treasurer for 2.8 million NXT for NXT's Infrastructure Committee, of which I am the spokesman.

Waiting for a few days to verify Klees identity is not a problem, and I'm sure that CfB will be along any moment now to add his piece.

I'd like to say that this is a very positive move from BTER, I already liked your exchange and now I'm even more impressed by this decision.

Thieves and scammers are a plague on crypto right now, and are one of the issues standing in the way of mass adoption for crypto.

Funds - coins have been deposited to BTER trading account and this person seems he would like to sell this coins. You are not police, judge or jury. Just cheap Bter advertising.

I respect klee, but people are acting very hypocritical. If newbie would lost his funds in a similar way, you would all just say it's his fault and that he is stupid. He would never get his funds back.

I don't see why there would be a need to co-operate with the police at all? From what I saw on Twitter klee's account was hacked and now BTER found the hackers exchange account where klee's NXT/BTC was transferred to. If klee verifies his identity and the community supports it then they could just hand the funds back to the rightful owner. If you read on the NXT forums klee seems like a trusted member of the community, not just newbie who has no credibility.

If BTER were to co-operate with the police it would take months before the case gets resolved, and they could argue some excuse that they can't verify the rightful owner etc. (most people don't understand Bitcoin let alone NXT) and all funds would be transferred over to the government.

As I said, I respect you. I'm talking about hypocrisy, double standards and ''do it my way''-bter style. This is serious case, police should be involved. I really wish you all the best!

Law enforcement should be involved, but I don't see a need to freeze the account. This isn't like some crime scene where you have to lock down the physical environment while evidence is collected. Bter has a complete record of any transactions and any other details related to the account, so they can return the NXT to the rightful owner without losing any evidence at all. No need to tie it down in judicial bureaucracy for God knows how long.
