The title makes it clear. But to explain further; I find that it's kind of confusing to have to browse outbox and inbox in a different place. I try to quote the message I reply to so I can remember what I replied to if I read my own message a while after. But this makes conversations goofy, takes too much space within the message and also doen't look all that good. If we had the option to display messages from all parties in the same tab (like sms conversations in smart phones for example) it would be great.
Also receiving the message without having to refresh the page would be great but maybe I'm asking for too much.

Yeah, I'd like this feature too. I've found myself going backwards and forwards between inbox and outbox a few times. An option to toggle it on/off would be great.

Great idea. The current setup for viewing messages is so confusing at-a-glance. Why do I want to see the oldest message at the top of the page? I don't!
Moving towards a conversation thread would be much more intuitive to use - especially as many applications use this implementation. I would be very surprised to not see such feature in the new forum software.

You can change that in your settings. Sweet, I've just changed this setting, along with a few others too. That's much better. Think the option of recent first should be the default, though it's not much of an issue manually changing it. |

Yeah, seems logical to have it the other way around. I think post count should show up automatically as well as you have to enable that and it seems to lead to some confusion with people thinking activity is their post count.

Man, this has been a revelation to me despite having looked through the profile/forum preferences beforehand, I had hardly any non-standard settings. Just enabled the post count option, also I changed the date format and applied the forum time offset. Looking forward to the new forum software, while this software serves its purpose for users it is undoubtedly behind with the times in many respects - the conversation thread for messages being one. |

This system reminds me of the old Nokia phones in which there was no such thing as a conversation. All messages were completely independent from each other and outgoing and incoming messages were saved in different places.
I therefore think this would be a great feature.

Haha. Wasn't that most old phones that had a separate inbox and an outbox that you had to switch between? |

I remember those days. Back then it was completely acceptable, we expected nothing more. It's funny how times change and expectations shift. A lot of the shift in user experience is born out of applications and the community's encouragement to develop and contribute. |

You can change that in your settings. Thanks! Made some changes and now I can see the latest messages at top.  IMO enabling an option like you said would be very helpful. Is this going to be added?
