i have noticed that there are a lot of clueless and broke bitcoiners on this forum...
i would say 90% of bitcoiners on this forum own less than 1 BTC and are clueless...
just my opinion...not trying to start any fights...so Relax people...it's just my opinion...

wellif they would be rich would just relax on some tropical island.
Was it sold yet?

Not yet. It has been stayed by a court order.
But with BTC.com selling for $1.1 million, any bid is possible in this case.
Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

IMHO, "btc.com" has a better value than "bitcoins.com".
And so I guess (just a wild guess) the bitcoins.com can be sold for slightly less than a million. Smiley

I don't think it is. Was the auction approved? See http://www.coindesk.com/auction-bitcoins-com-domain-halted-us-court

last time BTC.com sold about $1.1 million

The price for btc.com was reported as $1.1 million at the beginning, but then it has been updated to be $1 million *only*. Smiley

http://www.coindesk.com/btc-com-domain-sold-gawminers-record/
UPDATE (6th August 12:20 BST): This piece has been updated following the official announcement of the sale by Domain Guardians. The final sale price was $1m rather than $1.1m as originally stated by GAWMiners CEO Josh Garza.

Bitcoin is valued at around 8billion marketcap.

1million for a premium domain name is penny change.

I just won iBitcoins.com

Wouldn't that be an oxymoron because bitcoin is an internet only based technology?

Who knows what the future holds. Such as Pad or Ipad. Ipad is an internet based technology. But pad is a just what it is just a pad. But "I" meaning "we" use the pad collectively.
So "I" or "we" use Bitcoins collectively

I'd much rather have more "Money in the pot" come distribution time and not some domain name. They speak for themselves on this one, and I don't understand their motivations, at all. Maybe their hoping to claim the domain for themselves or something? Weird.

Less than 1 million euro.

It depends. Even domains that are worth a certain value go for more than double their actual value since the people that are buying it are going to use it for something. And some times domains that are worth a lot go for a very low amount. My guess is more in the range of $100,000 for bitcoins.com. But still, who has so much money to throw into a domain. Wink
