In case you haven't visited the homepage of https://thepiratebay.se two of it's founders are locked up. Peter Sunde was arrested today in a police raid in southern Sweden. The Pirate Bay co-founder was wanted by Interpol as he had yet to serve prison time for his involvement with the site. Sunde's arrest comes exactly eight years after the police raided the Pirate Bay servers, which marked the start of the criminal prosecution against the site's founders.
Let's show them some support. (the image is from tpb homepage)

Well this was bound to happen sooner or later. I saw something on TV a few nights back about Kim .com and how he's going to go down soon.
The motion picture and music industry is more powerful than Big oil in America. Big oil makes money. The media companies make equally big profits and can brainwash people and can sue you for $10k per infringement off of one copyright.

Transformers: Age of Extinction
Release date: June 27, 2014 Box office gross: $302,138,400 Budget: $210,000,000
Only 1 movie making a Net profit of nearly $100 000 000 in a few days, and they still saying, they losing money on piracy. How greedy can you be?
Their royalties and copyright goes on for centuries, thanks to Walt Disney's court case findings, and they smile all the way to the bank.
It's a shame, and even a bigger shame, that we support them. {Me included} 13% of my total income goes towards them. {Movies / Rentals / Subscriptions}

Guys shouldn't be in prison, they have just provided place for crime. Criminals are guys that downloaded and uploaded, that includes me also. Everyone should be in prison by that terms, but that's just stupid enough for me to smile to them . Release them, no need for them to stay locked, you will not fix a thing with that.

Except that 210 million budget includes about $20-$30 million in tax breaks and kick-backs from the government. This then goes to lobbyists who wine and dine the Senators/Congresspeople and get them to write new tax breaks. It works out well for both parties. Oh whoops, sorry one of the groups are "public servants" - sorry can't say that with a straight face.

I would be fucking giddy if I ever got that much and there's plenty you can do with that amount that the average person could only dream of, it's not filesharing that's the problem, it's them, governments seriously need to throw these scumbags out of court or in jail. This is me speaking as a soon to be independent artist as well.

They are in prison for a crime they didn't commit, this is an injustice. It's sad the legal system is on the wrong side of history. In time let's hope the laws change, after all the whole world is copying, even the NSA, Apple and Microsoft copies your data without permission.

I think there are (or at least used to be) software like that. bear share way back when, and i think Limewire was like that before they got taken down.

The law is really outrageous. If they directly stole something, or even attempted assault, they would've gotten less time. I'm almost sure the time they're going to be locked up is downright up there, but, it's great ti be optimistic.

Indeed I have very little sympathy for producers of works who use really long copyright laws to protest their works long after their retail and commercial value is forgotten, to that extent I wish they let the pirate bay founders go. (more for a fair return going to all than just the studios) For saving lives and by educating people about various things using the internet and social media I nominate them for the Nobel Peace Prize XD But I would like to see them let go ^_^
