A PPS/variant of PPS pool like abc/btcguild/eligius is good for casual miners. Go take a look in the pools subforum and pick the one with the lowest fee.

My BTC Tip Jar: 1Pgvfy19uwtYe5o9dg3zZsAjgCPt3XZqz9 , GPG ID: B3AAEEB0 ,OTC ID: johnthedong
Escrow service is available on a case by case basis! (PM Me to verify I'm the escrow!)

P2Pool is good if you want to pay nothing on transactions, but stale shares are worthless. Also, bitminter is good if you just want to start mining instantly, since the entire miner is in Java.

Yeah I don't suggest you use P2Pool if you're just a casual miner. I suggest btcguild or deepbit. Lots of people don't like deepbit, but I like it because it's dependable. Of course I'm also just being paranoid

This is one case where I can't recommend P2Pool. You should find the most trustworthy pool with the best PPS rate and mine there.
Agreed.
Of all the times I would suggest P2Pool, it's only if you're constantly going mine all day/night.
