Due to popular demand, we've just added the Kroger group of stores to Spend Bitcoins. Order a physical Kroger group gift card at http://spendbitcoins.com (just click "convert bitcoins" at the top of the site and choose Kroger).

Happy spending!

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

And in case the name Kroger doesn't ring a bell, it is the company that operates Ralph's grocery stores, Fry's (grocery, not electronics), Food 4 Lees, Fred Meyer, and more.  Bitcoin converted to these USDs now can be spent alongside the $90 billion of retail spending occuring at Kroger stores annually.

They also have a reloadable VISA prepaid debit card.  I wonder if these Kroger gift cards from SpendBitcoins can be used to load funds (or buy a re-charge card) for loading onto the VISA.

The site looks way spiffier now than I remember it. Good job!

Whoa. Fancy. Someone's catering to a b&m store that's actually within 100 miles of my residence. Meijer, next? Shocked

Fantastic question! We make some from people shopping on our affiliate links, particulary Amazon, and we make the rest by reselling the bitcoins anonymously at a premium in Australia (see the "Buy Bitcoins" tab).

Oh, and we get cashback on our Amazon credit card as well. Smiley

EDIT: Also, you can pay us for a premium listing on the "Places that accept bitcoin" page (or you can list yourself for free non-premium!)

If anyone in this thread has one of the above-mentioned prepaid cards I have a $370 recharge for them purchased by accident that I would be willing to trade for btc.
Should have been a greendot but wrong kind was purchased.
