Okay, I'm trying a totally different thing for Satoshibox: A science fiction story I wrote and now I want to sell the PDF for Bitcoin. The name of it is "The Grebsa Network: Snow Puppies" and I need help to sell it, but because I don't exactly expect people to do it for free, I'm offering you the chance to earn .006BTC per sale through your affiliate link that you can get here: http://satoshibox.com/53c2f25e4c347b0c50008361/partner

This is what the back cover blurb looks like (or would if this was a physical book):

Quote
The Lords of the Grebsa Network were caught completely off guard. The alien Veroshi swooped into Earth with a compulsion to worship the Grebsas as gods that had been engineered by a Prophet they never knew. It was enough to bring a charging Grebsa to a sudden stop. The Veroshi are just beginning to settle into the city built for them by the reluctant gods when an elderly member of the Guardian Faction collapses while protecting abandoned Veroshi puppies in a blizzard. The Mind-Priestesses insist that these puppies are the children of a Grebsa. That leads to snorts of "Impossible!" from the Grebsas, but as events unfold, they begin to wonder exactly how unlikely it is.

And here's what the front cover looks like:

Anybody feeling up to pasting your affiliate links all over the Web? You have any questions, go ahead and ask.

Should be easy for someone with some science fiction fans among their Twitter followers/Facebook fans. Anyone?

So nobody is interested in making BTC commissions for selling my book. This is why Bitcoin is not yet mainstream. Lack of really good promotion. Sad

In some ways I think your point about promotion is spot on thing.  I'll look into giving this a try and see what kind of interest there is but truth be told I'm not a pro at this by any means.  If it seems worth the time and effort I put into it I'll continue to peruse more potential buyers.   Smiley

Thanks...I would think this would be as simple as posting your affiliate links anyplace where you think you might get actual sales. Starting with Facebook, Twitter and (maybe) Reddit.

Ok thanks for the direction.  That is very possible and I'll be giving it a try at some point this week.   Wink

I think the OP may have been talking about promoting to the every day person.  That is who I think Bitcoin really needs promoted to and held more by any large companies.

There can be if only I can get it in front of eyeballs. I figure the whole point of affiliate marketing is to get the average person to do some of the leg work of advertising something in exchange for a cut of the take. Like travelling salesman, only you don't even need to leave your computer desk to do it.

it's a bit  hard to find an audience interested in reading sci fi stories and have a basic bitcoin knowledge to handle the purchase process from satoshibox

Maybe, but I think you underestimate science fiction fans. They're going to know that Star Trek's "credits" are a sort of dim foreshadowing of cryptocurrencies and maybe it'll get them curious about Bitcoin if nothing else.

Ooh, I'm a science fiction fan and those puppies are cute. Would it help if I plastered this all over my Facebook and Twitter?

It might. Cheesy I see a few people are already using my affiliate links...Not getting much in sales, but eventually we're going to start reaching the people we need to.

Yes, it is. It really looks like some people are trying though. If I could just get more people to share their affiliate links (remember, you get .006 BTC per sale!), eventually we'll reach the right kind of people.

Bitcoin is not mainstream because people don't want to sell your book? Makes sense. Tongue satoshibox is pretty cool though, I just tried it out.
