hi,
heard about Bitcoin a few month ago but just a few moments ago i finnaly read some details about it.
Sounds really great, it could overthrow the power of banks lol.

Well my question is, is it possible to print a QR-Code with transaction details which would look like this [QR - 5 BTC] ?

If i understood it correct, after using this inside the QR-Code Bitcoin transfer the printed money will be useless and can be burned.

Well my vision was like that:

Open your Bitcoin programm.
- account balance 120 BTC

Klick on "Print BTC"
- choose amount
- ammount chosen = 5 BTC

Print out a paper which looks like that [QR - 5BTC]  ;QR = QR Code with transaction details like the programm uses normally;)

*((Scan it to activate it
- it will make your balance go to 115 BTC))

Now go to a store, buy something worth 5 BTC, give the Paper to the Owner.

Now the Owner has 2 possible ways to use this printed money:
- Scan it to add 5 BTC to his balance (paper will be useless after this, can be burned) -- *and delete 5 BTC from Printers Account
- change the printed money to something worth of 5 BTC like you do with money now.

what ya think?

*is optional

Here is something you might find interesting:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=55495.0

Also see:  https://www.bitaddress.org

I have to go but I (or someone else) can explain a bit about how these work later.

Yes it's possible

And, did you try the Bitcoin client version 6?

http://sourceforge.net/projects/bitcoin/files/Bitcoin/bitcoin-0.6.0/test/

It has a built in QR Code generator that do exactly what you are asking  Smiley

The built QR Code generator did not work. Can I use a QR Code generator like this? I googled and found this. I can also reset the barcode image.
