Iraqi armoured column destroyed in combat by ISIS

Fighters from the newly established Islamic State ambushed and destroyed an Iraqi armored column in the western province of Anbar. Islamic State fighters also captured several American-made armored personnel carriers. The ambush highlights the deteriorating state of the Iraqi security forces.

The Islamic State's Anbar Wilayat (division or province) released a series of photographs on its Twitter account on July 10 that document the ambush of an Iraqi armored column and the aftermath of the attack [photographs below].

According to the statements from the Anbar Wilayat, the Iraqi Army convoy was attacked in the Khalidiyah area in Anbar province. Although the exact date of the ambush was not provided, the Anbar Wilayat typically publishes photographs of attacks within days of carrying them out.

Undoubtedly, these guys did this w/ weapons that were given to Syrian 'rebels' by the west and at the behest of Obama, McCain and all the neocon henchmens. They knew these weapons would filter on through these terrorist groups and sprout up again creating more tension thus giving them some leeway in saying we should go back over there or something similar. Fact is, these guys were a dying breed here in America and even most republicans have had enough of them. They were on the ropes but they did the behind the scenes homework and thanks to their weaponry giveaways, we're back to square one again.

ISIS also have Abram tanks, humvees and anti tank weapons they got from American Base in Mosul. The only explanation why the ISIS destroyed the Iraqi tanks it is because they ambushed it.

Technologically superior yes, but the Iraqi army despite being given training is still almost at rag tag as ISIS.  They had a 77% no-show rate in Mosul - shocking that the base collapsed
