Why make a captcha that is so fucking hard to read. I know bots and all but can we not do white and fucking black with crazy letters combined.

I swear some Captchas take me like 10-20 tries to solve.

Ha, yeah I also noticed that captchas seem to be getting incredibly difficult. Soon even humans can't read them anymore. Interestingly, when the server deems you humanly enough, you seem to get an easy house-number-captcha.

If some capchas are taking 10-20 tries to be solved by you I suggest to visit an optometrist

And well... captchas are working as they should work ... slowing down bots, human from spamming.. not all of them are well designed
I think the best captcha is the one where you need to take some item and drag and drop to a box. There are 3 items to choose and you are asked to take specific one.

Preaching to the quire and as far as I'm concerned my friend the person who came up with the unreadable captchas is a jackass lol.  The know damn well they couldn't read the text either haha.  Seriously thought I just refresh until I find one I think I can read and then I zoom in and read it.  I get so mad when I enter all the info and I have to go back and do it again because of the captchas.

People starting automatizing the print-screen - use machine learning to identify the code - send the correct answer to server process? So the captchas need to be harder and harder every day.

Problem is as you said with bots.
Some bots use face detection technology, which can even remove shapes behind text.
That is reason why they make text which is so hard to read.

No choice, bots are too smart they can solve it if it is too easy. So it has to be really hard like impossible!!!

I agree some captchas suck, especially the ones that are packed so tight one letter becomes another.

I've been around for long time and I have seen quite a lot o captchas and their evolution from simple digits to complicated images so difficult to read it is not funny anymore. Some of them are seriously bad, I mean by design it is hard to see what the hell is in some of them.

i dont understand why some of them need to be so retarded. one one type where you have to type 2 wors, of the words is totally unreadable and the other is ok. from testing it looks like you can type literally anything just as long as 1 out of fte 2 is very close. it seems pointless. unless the unreadable one is to fool bots so they give up ?

Actually, the easy one is for verification of documents. The hard one is the one you have to complete.

I learned today that google perfected their algorithms to identify house numbers on streetview images so far that those algorithms have become able to decipher the craziest captchas! Not exactly what they wanted, I guess

You are complaining about something that will inevitably be celebrated as the birth mother to actual AI. When there is nothing left humans can do that a robot cannot, I foresee happiness and then much struggle followed by many laser esplosions.
