I've heard of this apparently the roads are already starting to melt
Because the ground is hot as heck and they are closing the park and area around it so if it does explode it will be a mount saint helens event.

The last supervolcano to erupt at Yellowstone was 640,000 years ago, and this one could spew magma more than 240 cubic miles across the surrounding land.

“The chance of that happening in our lifetimes is exceedingly insignificant,” said Peter Cervelli, associate director for science and technology at the U.S. Geological Survey’s Volcano Science Center in California.

The park goes through temperature fluctuation from the underground thermal activity, but it seems to be getting worse.

Still it looks like it won't boom yet at least.

I am not sure it is the giant threat we are led to believe. Man has never witnessed such an event. Shouting the words super volcano does make politicians more likely to fund research studies on it.

Volcanoes are real threat to mankind. Read the history, how many got killed from a volcano eruption and its effects. How much more if a super volcano erupts which 100 - 300 times more powerful, can you imagine how many got killed and the destruction it cause?

The question is not if this thing is going to go, it's when. something is going on with the volcano. Just a couple of years ago there was a report that the land level was rising due to magma filling the chamber. then just recently, reports of earthquake swarms around the area. now we have roads melting.. Folks, lets be frank here sure the USGS has no Idea when it will go. we can all agree with that. but we can also agree that it's gearing up to go sometime in the future.

I 'd like to work in the Yellowstone. park, Money comes there very easy, corrupted officials, corrupted scientists, telling fantastic stories about " big " volcano , fairy tales always attract tourists, just watch after this " dangerous" situation triple more tourists will rush there. Yellowstone is actually an underground moving super volcano. Land has been rising for quite some time making lake beds rise to the surface.
The Earth's crust is moving on top of other layers and the top layer is very thin there. The main magma chamber is in the the underneath layer.
The volcano will only burst out when there's enough pressure. When magma bubbles up it might not come to a full blowout and functions as a pressure release.
The air might become toxic with sulfuric gas in that area though.

lots of people say it could wipe out the entire north america.. all that gas would block out sunlight, and all that ash that we'd be breathing in. it would definitely cause a rise in temperatures.

In this case there are only two theories :
1- it erupts every 700 000 or so years
2- the last one was really the last

In that context "one theory is" is just an expression.

Only time shall tell.. Theres evidence showing that the earth is actually cooling, contrary to the global warming idea pushers. The CO2 levels are rising though way beyond the norm. The scientists showing this data are either not funded by big corp, or have left the funding of these wealthy to share their real data.. I believe the earth has its own cycles and basically creates its own conditions. These volcanoes and geysers are just its way of venting off excess heat perhaps, and it is all a natural process. I believe the co2 is caused by the excessive aerosol spraying that goes on in the sky everday by these weather manipulators. Theyre also finding out the sun is less active, and seems to be going into a sleep cycle.. Theyre predicting colder than normal temps in our near future.
