Why is it so hard to get BTC without mining? I just don't understand why there is no website where you can simply buy some.

You won't find many people selling for credit card due to the same problem with paypal. Chargebacks.

No - usually within 10 mins but can sometime take an hour or so. It's not a 'debit card' solution you was looking for but as close as you can get - online banking transfer.

May sure you pick a seller who is online right now (green circle next to name).

Localbitcoins is probably the easiest, pay by bank tranfer and you can get btc within the hour. Best to just use sellers with a high amount of positive feedback.

I'm not sure with a debit card but there must be some downfall as I haven't seen many services selling via debit card.

Localbitcoins. I've done it endless times. I literally put a $100 note in an envelope, mail it, wait five days, and get my BTC.

The best way is online bank transfer - you get the coins within the hour usually. Localbitcoins hold the seller's coins in 'escrow' until seller confirms the funds transfer and releases the coins to you. They end up in your localbitcoins wallet - send them to yourself from there. Job done.

Are there any implications with the bank though? if it is a large transfer will they ask questions, etc, and have problems if you tell them it is for bitcoin?
