I tried going down as well to 212 and no luck. I guess this S3 is just fixed at 218 or perhaps needs the clock changed with a jumper or solder hack
Can anyone confirm if this looks normal
Asic 16 / 218.75 / 2400 rpm / 42 c Asic 16 / 218.75 / 2460 rpm / 45 c
What firmware version are you running ?

I recently upgraded my s3's firmware what is with the new voltage setting underneath the freq setting? I run mine at 250mhz and have been doing so for 3mos now without a issue. What can this new voltage setting do can it give me more speed? I rn the on Corsair HX1000 PSU's So i got watts to spare

The new voltage setting in the gui saves you from having to ssh into the machine and edit the files manually.

Well I tried overclocking my S3 to 225 freq and it accepted it when rebooted but would only hash at 360-370ghs. After only ten minutes two asics went "x" on me so had to change it back to 218.75. All asics are back and now hashing at 420ghs avg.

My S3+ with Kano's updated software: At these settings my S3+ hums along at 500GH/s. Are you saying the voltage field is meaningless and has no effect on the miner? I'm not sure I agree.

My understanding and all of my measurements on a single S3 & an S3+ show that the Core Voltage, measured externally, does not change, also Power at the wall does not change. It is however possible that some other parameter internal to the chip is changed as there are people who claim that the setting has some effect. Rich

Did you Save & Apply after setting the frequency? Also sometimes with the S3 you need to do a Reboot. Which firmware are you running? Rich

Good result, after trying Soft Reboot, always worth trying a complete Power Down reboot. I find the S3 a lot fussier when making changes than the S5. Rich

from what i see i got a "new" one "old" unit.
the old didnt like 225 at all. the new works fine at 225.
reason i think i have new/old is that on one of them i see rpm on both fans

Rich I found the same thing, often after a soft reboot my S3+ would come back with x's in the chip section. Soft reboots would never clear them, but if I powered down for a bit then back up all the chips always came back o's. I ran it overclocked to 500GH.

Hello, I just got 3 used S3+ and they are coming in pretty low. I puttied into one and set it to the 250 setting, and it's pulling around 430
What's the best setting for these?
I'm using them for heat in the basement. so Efficiency is not my top concern.
Thanks.

I hope you have a good psu and connect all 4 PCIe cables to the miner? Look at the status page maybe the reason is of several "x" between the "o" because of the high setting after some minutes Did you make a (soft)reboot after the changes?
