This is a great news!  Smiley

People who are looking to buy dell computers and don't know about bitcoins will now try to first learn and acquire bitcoins in order to get that 10% discount.

Me too; I didn't realize how much Dell was bigger than the other companies already accepting BTC until I saw that chart.
Though no correction has still happened, at the moment.

I wonder how well they'll do in terms of bitcoin sales?

Same. I wasn't aware how huge a company it was. Now all we need is ebay.

I wonder how well they'll do in terms of bitcoin sales?
If I well remember, it has been reported that for Overstock.com it was about 10% of their sales.
Not sure if that percentage is right or if it can be applied to a so bigger company but maybe that could be a starting point for further speculations.

EDIT:
Sorry, I was wrong. That 10% was the percentage of BTC from sales that Overstock would take on HOLD.
About the sales numbers, their CEO predicted that Overstock will see a total of $10-15m in bitcoin sales this year. (*)
So, considering that the revenues for the last year were 1.3b, we could speculate on about 1% of sales are BTC transactions. Any Thoughts?

Same. I wasn't aware how huge a company it was. Now all we need is ebay.
If I had to choose I would say Paypal, but considering that Ebay owns Paypal, then Ebay should be better. Smiley

Wow, I had no idea Dell was that huge. I've got an old Dell and it's served me well but I think this announcement is going to push me to buy a new one with my coins as I've been itching to spend them on something and this is perfect.

IMO, Dell is the most important company to accept Bitcoin till date. (None of the other companies, such as Overstock, Expedia, DISH, Tigerdirect, Newegg.etc could match Dell in terms of revenue or notability).

Only one problem. Why they are limiting this to the US customers only?

Yea... This is the Big one. Discussion is still open on, if merchants converting bitcoin to fiat, is good or bad for the currency.  Sad

But expect some hardware manufacturers getting in on the Bitcoin wave soon. Custom "Bitcoin enabled" Notebooks with fingerprint software linked to online wallets and customized bitcoin scanners.  Grin

Bitcoin is now the new "In thing".

Many people have proffered the idea that some big boys are keeping the price relatively stable which could be the repairing of the pricing image from the last 8 months of craziness. Hence, more companies and different funds/ETFs are making their way into the ballgame making a perfect storm upon the horizon.

Well as an idea it does make sense that some big players constantly are able to sell enough coins on the market to suppress the upside movements
But at the same time they are holding a percentage of those coins in light of the positive volatility opportunity it presents.
So it could be an interesting 8 months Smiley

I wouldn't take Overstock lightly. It is true that they are struggling, as giants such as Amazon and Ebay are making life extremely hard for them. I have my respect for them. They were one of the first online retailers to accept Bitcoin. They set the precedent, which other companies such as Expedia, Dell, Tigerdirect.etc simply followed.

I was actually amazed at how small Overstock's share was, in comparison to Dell. We should adjust the chart to show, what the potential would be, if companies like eBay / Facebook etc. enter the ring.  Grin

Coming months would see other bigger companies coming abroad too, and then things would heat up considerably around here.

Imagine a faucet payout of 1 satoshi soon.  Grin
