At what rate of exchange shall I credit the ckg?
For these recent ones, the 0.9 rate cited by rpietila is fine: Not that I have listed all my contributions, but today gave 1,000 CKG (valued about 900 XMR) to the Monero House.
For the 'pa' contribution 10 000 XMR was a rough estimate that I think is reasonable. The donation consisted of an entire high level character with many assets. That included about 10 000 CKG but also a lot of other stuff including rare and silver items and some premium land. Among the rare items are the original Satoshi and Cryptonote white papers

The building, which still stands in the Old Town Square, was originally built from donations of me and David Latapie to take advantage of promotion free land (according to the latest completed trades in the area, the land itself is now worth 3,000 XMR as it is directly facing the Royal Palace and shares a wall with smooth's house). The whitepapers are converted from Monero House AIC credits, therefore an offspring of the original donation. Monero House also rumoredly owns 2 bottles of DOM, the most expensive drink in game, the bid for a bottle is 8 XMR (ok AYA is bid 17 XMR but it's a wisdom substance). These are the result of the 'pa' donation.

That was mostly a joke, as I have no idea as to their value (if any). I'm not really sure the mix of where the other assets came from, but clearly pa's contribution was substantial. If you have a better estimate of its value, go ahead and provide it. I won't object your number being better than mine.

I don't know what we are debating At the time of mine and David's donation, we only threw in 50 XMR each (and not sure if more later, or who else has donated). It has transmutated itself to be perhaps 4-5k XMR worth of land and items. If you want to find out the value of the 1450 Satoshi whitepaper, go ahead and sell it! I am not selling my 1400 copy of "1984" because I could have converted 106*TS140 silver coins instead, with ask/bid 20/3 XMR apiece. The 'pa' donation was easily worth 10k XMR iirc but these valuation things are such that the real value is not realized before the thing is sold, and to be more precise, after the money is spent. Then you know the worth

I don't know what we are debating I was simply asking what you think the 'pa' donation was worth. The 'pa' donation was easily worth 10k XMR Okay that is in agreement with my number. OT: If you want to find out the value of the 1450 Satoshi whitepaper, go ahead and sell it! It has been on the market for a while.

I'll donate 350 XMR bringing my total to 1000.1337 XMR edit: it seems that I can now add a quote below my name on the hall of fame. I would like to add this: Crypto may offer 'key blinding'. I did some research and it was obscure, but there may be something there. It's better to have 100 (regular) people donating 100 XMR a month than 10 (richer) people donating 1000 xmr a month. If one drops out from the latter group, it's significant. If one drops out from the former group, it's not really an issue. More resilience

Warning: this topic has not been posted in for at least 120 days. *iCEBREAKER casts THREAD NECROMANCY - it's super effective!* Monero core devs are working hard in the chocolate factory, making us amazing crypto treats like GUI RingCT caramel truffles. And this thread is dead. Where is the love? Do we need not offer tokens of appreciation simply because the forum funding system works so exceedingly well? OK sure, any specific project that needs doing gets funded within minutes or hours. But what about aminorex and fluffy's appreciation for fine wine and tacotime's passion for fake Canadian Mexican food? Let's not forget smooth and Risto also need funds to hire trolls, to better vex the DashHoles. We must get this thread moving again. Time to give until it hurts (or at minimum tingles like peppermint soap on sensitive areas). This is not charity, this is dividend reinvestment! I'll start by generously providing 1 XMR to the dev fund on behalf of our dear friend TheDashGuy. On a more solemn note, I'd like to donate 64 XMR in warptangent's name. I wish I would've met you; I'd say hey man nice shot.
