In a Civil war both sides are defending their country. People of Donbass defend their land and homes on home turf, so to speak. People of West Ukraine defend their access to natural resources and labour of people of Donbass by invading the land in the East.

They already have two violent coups in the last decade, now they have a civil war and the third coup is coming soon. It seems that these people simply doesn't deserve to have their own sovereign country because they're unable to govern themselves. The only thing they understand it's a military occupation regime.
