Yes but as a Canadian it would be great to buy one without having to pay a billion dollars for taxes and customs and so forth.

I live in toronto. If your looking to make a profit with mining bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies, your pretty much too late, other than massive expensive ASICS.

If you are looking for investment or a profit, then I would suggest buying bitcoins, and storing them in an offline wallet.

Yes, its not fun at all just looking at your coinage just sitting there, but when there is an upward shift in value you'd be in profit if you sold.

If you are in it for a hobby, then get some (relatively) cheap mining equipment. Be aware though, that this route would crush all of your hopes to get a nice profit unless bitcoin leapt in value.

You should look at recent charts to get a better understanding of the stocks but yes you are right its a risky business but if it pays off if pays off big time.

Yes very risky, but the bitcoin community and structure (huge mining farms ala Ghash.io are popping up all the time) is such that for the past few months the price has been reasonably stable.  Back when I started doing bitcoining(new phrase?) the price was 80 USD now 620 ish.

Yes, bitcoin price is very unstable. It could go up or down 10% daily, and it has dropped from $1100 to $600 in just 2 weeks.
Therefore, you should just put part of your money in bitcoin rather than putting all your life saving in bitcoin.
