European financial regulators just took a positive step to engage directly with the disruptive effects of the growing cryptocurrency ecosystem, but you might not have realized that. The European Banking Authority (EBA) watchdog agency issued a report on Friday, July 11, titled “Opinion on ‘virtual currencies’.” It then received a great deal of media attention—most of it negative.

Let's face it, if the mainstream press can't or won't articulate to the people how bad their government is screwing them over when it's plain as day, then reporting on something as complex, new and revolutionary as Bitcoin or crypto in general is beyond their pale.  It will be this way for some time I'd imagine. As long as the tech advances to make things easier for the uninitiated, we should keep getting in better shape. Heck, once these new financials step their toes in this and the price starts to rise, the media will have do something to better explain why things are changing as the mania reaches new heights.

a few hundred additional strategically placed bitcoin atm's and 30-40K or so brick and mortars newly accepting bitcoin over the next year might certainly advance that cause Wink

Just another reason, why journalist must stay away from smoking crack.  Grin My father had a saying, "Bad news sells better than Good news"

You should acctually not blame them. {journalists} It's the editors who are approving the stories. And editors dance to the tunes of the shareholders. {Dig deeper, and you would find that the opinion of the shareholders are reflected in the news that are being circulated}

Lucky most people have a nose, and they can smell bullshit, before they see it.  Tongue
