Bitcoin: An Idea Worth Spending

Interesting. I always liked the idea of doing something like:
1WELOVEYOUSATOSHI12q (would have to figure out a valid address) or something. Then at least even though you're throwing your money away there is a message to it! Wink

BUT IF you are going to throw your money AWAY it would probably be better to support BTC businesses. It will do more good. It will help people rather than waste it.

Agreed.

Well fuck me in my ass! You are so correct with that assessment. I should have held on to those two thin dimes ($.20 USD) and used them for a purchase from a more proper Bitcoin related enterprise. The next time I see somebody tossing a quarter into a wishing well, I'm going to berate that bitch to no end, teller her that she's lost her fuckin' mind for tossing a perfectly good coin into a worthless well, when she could use that same coin to stimulate the economy by spending that same quarter at the shoppe across the street.

LOL. I was only get at larger amounts. But ya, for small amounts who cares. I like the idea though of an address that has a message for tossing the BTC away.

But, you're not really tossing bitcoins away when you realize two main aspects to this concept. First, if/when (when/if) the coins are moved, the Genesis Block owner(s) will most likely direct the overage to some worthy cause. Second, if this concept gets legs and the address reaches some tipping point, the media will pick it up, even if it takes a press release, thus, once again, bringing awareness to Bitcoin. Bear in mind, one never knows when or how a fad starts.

It seems the wishing well has some messages! Please, forgive my potentially crummy decoding.

Starting at 2012-09-11 05:07:12:

"btcs a scam"

and, somewhat less informative:

"utn"

That's what it translates to. That's the first time I've seen it. Thanks, bud.

What a helluva way to send messages at a micro cost. I still like my idea of the Wisdom Well, but a wishing well would be just as good.
