Is this the first sale that they have done?   I know that ethereum was all the hype for a long time...but I haven't heard much about it lately...

Woah, I though you'd talk about ether... The stuff you sniff  Grin But that stuff seems far more complicated! Hell I guess I'm not ready to understand what they're doing... Geez, people have ideas over here!

Im willing to spend a hundred bucks to see where this goes!  I play 100 dollar tournament poker all the time and i don't win all of them. i'll just pretend i played a turny and i lost.
If it catches on, i will be fucking big.

That is easy. They convert their great ideas into thousands and thousands of BTC Wink

its like ripple trading all over again, but this time alot worse

im sticking with bitcoins, as this 'ether' just smells like another money grab for a service-layer that just wont stand the test of time

calling it a pre-sell during the summer, with a release of asset in winter.. pffft is this team BFL??

i thought consumer protection laws prohibited 'pre-sales' from being done if the seller cannot give a definite/realistic release date, and such definite date needed to be within a reasonable time...

i wonder who will be first to let the cat out the bag and simply sue etherium for doing illegal business, just for the sake of getting a nice wedge of cash for the small upfront cost of an ether pre-purchase, for evidential purposes only, to show they deserve to sue the company for bad practice.

in short
Etherium: you have soooo screwed yourself on this one..

I DO NOT TRADE OR ACT AS ESCROW ON THIS FORUM EVER.
Please do your own research & respect what is written here as both opinion & information gleaned from experience. many people replying with insults but no on-topic content substance, automatically are 'facepalmed' and yawned at

After every presale and release i've seen the price went down every time (and eventually the coin died).

Also if they had confidence in their ''revolutionary coin'' they wouldnt do a presale, especially a presale in BTC, the only true crypto.

Why would they want BTC if their crap was better ?

What i see is the same old alt coin scam.

you have 2 week to think about it before they become more expensive.
you have 41 days to think about it before you can't buy them until their genesis block goes live.

you can't trade them until then, so you're taking a huge risk.
I like ethereum and I think those guys deserve some credit for what they've accomplished sofar, but I want to see any of those tokens stand the test of time before I am putting any money in stuff like MSC, NXT, XCP, ETH etc...

i read their paper early on seems pretty interesting, correct me if i am wrong, but the total amount of ether ever created is not capped?  because of this i think i will probably pass on "investing" in this coin, but i might check up on it every so often to see how its faring.

When you read some of the terms of the investment, it looks like things could go sideways very easily.   It says that a lot of the people have been doing a lot of the work on a volunteer basis (kudos to them), but there really isn't any accountability on how the invested BTC is spent/allocated (unless I didn't see that part).
